yeah that was obviously a late hit. So why didn't they call that? Is it because they flagged him for being beyond the line of scrimmage?

I’d say general incompetence rather than any procedural thing.
 
For those who don't look at other threads during a game: #11 Illinois State took down #4 South Dakota State, 27-18. Might not help the Griz move up, but then again it might.
 
I wonder why they had to measure when they knew the unsportsmanlike was on Idaho. It was gonna be first down either way. Talking about inches?
