Game day tomorrow

Good luck Grizzlies! No excuses from me, whoever wins tomorrow is the better team. I just hope it's the Eagles (few bets with family depends on it!)

Was going to ask this when everything got a little less heated, and it looks like everyone is starting to simmer down. One thing I love about Missoula is the fact that there doesn't seem to be any towering buildings. Because of this, almost everywhere you go has a small town/city feel. The city certainly has the spread and the population to bring businesses with very large buildings, but I've never noticed it when I visited. Is there a building code which puts a cap on the height of the buildings?

Edit: I wrote that I hope the Grizzlies win

I don't believe there is a height cap until you get near the airport. there were several tall buildings planned over the years but I know that neighboring property filed too many complaints that it would block the view. The downtown area is the densest area and the reason that there is little tall buildings there is the age that most of it was constructed. A Hundred years or more. Tall apartment complexes were never needed to get a better view as there was plenty of room for quite a while for people to sprawl out onto the south hill to get a great view. Then the sprawl shifted out toward the airport and tall buildings are restricted for a radius around it, like all international airports. Really the way Missoula expand just kind of naturally eliminated a need for really tall buildings.

Missoula doesn't believe in promoting business. The crunchies have taken over. Bicycles and non-profits is our motto. Go figure.

Good luck...

Are you in Missoula?

I wish. I'm missing beautiful views like this one.

Thanks for clearing this up for me. It is something I've wondered about for a few years. Great game today.
