Game Day Thread- Utah Tech

I’m thinking some things get exposed next week. Ferris will be the best of our non conference opponents. I think they’ve won something like 28 straight road games. I know they’re D2, but that’s a lot of winning regardless of division

people are nuts if they think ferris is going to be competition. they were trailing Ashland today at the start of the 4th quarter. ashland is 0-2 and it was 31-28 with 28 seconds left so not like they are blowing division II foes out lol. going to be a blowout but still hate wasting a game where we should be playing a better opponent.

I hate the fact that we are playing a D2 school, nothing against them or the Division but it offers 0 positives and only potential negatives for the Playoffs. I would rather play on the road against an FBS school than a home game vs a D2.

So, how about lets go beat Washington on their turf and then play a bunch of D2 teams so we can pay for their HS stadium to be upgraded.

Ferris is going to give the Griz all it can handle. If you think just because they are D2 that they aren't any good, you're sadly mistaken. I believe the Griz will win, but it will not be a blowout.

Yes, nobody wants to complete 66% of their passes, averaging 10 yards a completion. Or run for 5 yards a carry. Terrible performance, all the way around.

Troubling that our receivers cannot gain separation.

This was an issue last year as well but, it's even worse this year. 0 separation. Idk if they just can't get off the blocks fast enough or our receivers are a lot slower than we think. Something needs to be done about this. It's ugly.

13/21 for a whopping 135 passing yards against the mighty Utah Tech... that is fucking trash. Our leading receivers had 27 receiving yards, which happened to be Ostmo. Even MSU passed for over 260 against them and what ran for over 400 against them? Cmon... I'd take that performance against a top 25 team but, not one of the worst teams in all of FCS..

I would be more concerned about our pass DEFENSE than our pass offense.

It doesn't matter the lead. We caused them, what 4 turnovers? The fact we didn't hang 60+ on them is crazy. I didn't see a single good pass today. Either forced by Vidlak or lobbed by McDowell. It was some of the worst passing Ive seen in a long time. We know we got a good run game, we need to be fixing the pass game by a lot.

Also our pass defense had only allowed like 83 passing yards at halftime. They didn't become successful until we had 3rd stringers out there. But, our run defense, was lackluster. My 3 biggest concerns are, passing game, run defense, and ball security.

Good lord. Some of you are the ones who give GRIZ fans bad names. This game was 43-0 at half, and Dixie hadn’t crossed into Montana territory. It was 43-0 end 3. The Griz emptied their bench. It was 95 degrees at KO so maintaining an edge against an overmatched oppo couldn't be easy. Hell, I was board and a little disconnected from my couch.

And yet some of you are bitching. I’d suggest checking a few scores over lesser opponents in the years we won national championships. Then crack a cold one and RELAX.

That was a top 25 match-up. Ashland is a solid D2 team. In fact, Ashland would beat many bottom half FCS teams IMO. Ferris is better...

Ferris QBs are a problem and they have 2 very good receivers. They have the potential to further expose the Griz secondary. If the Griz don't shut down their run-game, it could be trouble.

How about laying off that kid a bit. He is a great kid that has worked hard and been a great teammate. The non stop bashing of this kid on this forum is digusting. There are many great Griz fans but there are a portion that are just assholes. And the assholes pile on this great kid.

The bashing isn’t good, but I do think the young man should have transferred by now to a program where he can play more.
