I'm just going to keep it simple. From the beginning of fall camp, the HC said the starting QB would be based on play. The first game #7 shot his load on the 2nd play, scored and basically struggled the rest of the first half. Then #17 came in a problem played 1 1/2 quarters and rushed for 80 yards and scored and had the offense moving.
2nd game, they start #17 and the offense scored on its first 3 possessions and had 4 or 5 TDs by half if I'm not mistaken and the Griz were cruising to victory. #17 also went 7/10 passing. #7 went in and played a little bit and the offense was once again stagnant and unable to get first downs.
3rd game came around and you would think that after #17 performance with the offense, he would be the starter or at the very least play one half. Nope, #7 played the whole game and the offense basically struggled most of the game.
Then coming into this game, #7 played the whole game and once again struggled to get the offense going. #17 came in for a 2 plays and he rushed for 9 yards and the offense scored on the very next play.
By play alone after the first 2 games, #17 should be the starter. If you watch all the game tape, he gets the offense moving and the chains moving as well.
And for you guys saying playing a senior doesn't make sense is just idiotic. Not to mention he has 2 years of eligibility left. Either way the best player should play and his play has been better then #7. It's not the play calling because when #17 is in the game, the plays and offense gets first downs and move the ball and he doesn't take sacks and is able to get out of the pocket.
