GAME DAY THREAD - CPSLO

It’s amazing, a week ago our OC was inept, the o-line couldn’t block for a pass or a run. Totally amazing what an effective QB will do for you.

Of course they will say it’s only because we are playing a bad team.

To be fair, poly is absolutely terrible. Look at the scores of their games. Davis put up over 50 on them last week

So if we were playing Brown it would be the same outcome? I would guess 17-0 at half. All on the run. It’s all about the QB.

3) CPSLO is a bad BSC team but in any other conference but the MVC they would probably be a top 3 team… WAC/ASUN, Patriot, Ohio Valley, Southland and now CAA.

I don't believe this would be the case.

It’s great to see some offense again, but we need to be productive against teams with winning records too. This week and next week we will have some easy offensive sledding to get a bit of rhythm going into the brawl, where we will get one last crack this season at beating a team with a winning record. No amount of points or yards either this week or next will convince me we’ve improved. Let’s see a good offensive game against the cats, and a win there to get into the playoffs.

Nor do I. This CP team is a looooong ways from even being respectable. They barely beat San Diego for their lone win.

Fair points. I think Johnson not having to count to ten, like Brown typically does before throwing the ball, makes it easier to run an offense. Still s little baffled why every run has to be in between the guards.

I would love to see some backups get meaningful playing tim e

I've been waiting to see Alex Hurlburt get out there.

We've watched a lot of games from those conferences. Except for the CAA, which still has some quality depth, I would consider the statement only a slight exaggeration. Even the OVC, which could once feature a strong contender, is sadly lacking in good teams. And the Southland has only one really strong team ... Incarnate Word.

Hauck seems to have forgotten that Ostmo was injured last year. So let’s leave him out there and risk losing him again. Running up the score isn’t going to matter to the playoff committee.
