Can we just return the bubble and build a permanent structure? šŸ˜‚

No you don’t. Give us a list of top UM donors I am friend with or close to or say what projects they funded. Point out the ones who have been approached by UM to give millions. None of these people live in the Missoula area. Only 1 lives in MT.
Why don't you back up your BS and give us a list of these major donors you have influence and control over? The UM donors I was referring to think you are a cartoon character.

For a guy that comically shovels popcorn into his mouth (and frankly also down his shirt) like it’s feeding time at the trough during bball games, I’d be careful about who you are calling ā€œsoftā€. You ain’t doing any favors to the seams on your wornout Griz gear Simple Jack.

Oh but wait, I guess you did tell us all about how much time you spent doing aqua-robics with all the blue hairs at your AZ memory care center this last winter. So maybe I’m off?
I haven't attended any basketball games for years. You must have the wrong guy. I just did about 15 days of aqua-jogging in the Turkish Riviera, Croatia islands/coast, Montenegro, and Corfu. No blue haired ladies, but lots of heat water and hot stylish international women.

Nope you started the conversation. Back up what you have said. I know, you can't. You can't even list anyone you know that actually knows me.

Everyone I know who knows you says you are a big nothing and a jerk.

I didn't disagree that more can be done, but even with what you note, I don't think the Missoula area is at the level of the Gallatin. I also don't think this is necessarily a Missoula vs Bozeman thing, I think MSU has done a better job statewide, especially Kalispell and Billings. A small sample would be looking at the number of new alumni from each school over the past 10 years. UM's dismal enrollment is becoming an issue for fundraising.
Ya but again that goes back to my point about UM not doing enough. Bodnar did a decent job of stabilizing the University from where it was when he started, but he wasn't exactly the ultimate go-getter with a growth mindset. Look no further than the crazy undergrad enrollment drop we had last year. Yes the overall enrollment grew last year, but that was largely off the back of the surge in graduate enrollment we've seen in recent years, but undergrad students (especially out of state students) is where the money is. Perhaps Shinn will come in and turn the tide i some of the places you mention like Billings and Kalispell, and if he does, that's great news for UM. It'd be hard to do any worse than we have been.

But my point is, even if UM does better and takes full advantage of the avenues available, I still don't think it gets to the current MSU level. The enrollment issue is something that will take time to overcome, if ever.

I wonder why punk kids who have done nothing and know nothing, think it's disparaging to call someone a boomer, old, with-dementia, etc.?

I like being a boomer, and like what I've learned and done over the years. I guess people like Kick enjoy being poor and ignorant.

"Baby Boomers own approximately 51% to 52% of all total wealth in the United States. Even though they make up less than 20% of the population, their aggregate holdings total over $85 trillion. This encompasses everything from real estate to corporate equities and retirement accounts.
The breakdown of how the Baby Boomer assets map out highlights a few key areas:
  • Real Estate: Boomers own nearly 41% of all real estate assets in the U.S. (accounting for about $18 to $19 trillion in housing wealth alone).
  • Equities & Funds: They control over half of all corporate equities and mutual fund shares.
  • Wealth Inequality: This wealth is highly concentrated at the top. The top 10% of Boomer households hold 71% of the generation's total wealth.
By comparison, Millennials and Gen Z account for approximately 42% of the population but hold only about 10% to 11% of the nation’s total wealth.

What’s next on the itinerary? Catching a few ā€œshowsā€ in Thailand?

Wait, wasn’t Epstein’s Island pretty close to Montenegro?

I don't think anyone is suggesting we will overnight be able to have the fundraising and enrollment MSU has because the best time for us to have addressed that was 15 years ago.

The second best time is right now, and we need to actually start maxing out our efforts, which is what GTID and I are suggesting. If we want to work towards catching up to MSU over the next 10-20 years, the seeds of that have to be planted now.

Which I have never disagreed with.

True, but if you start to put in more effort then you can start closing the gap. I think UM needs to start courting businesses more as opposed to individuals. Montana Knife Company is a good start but MSU has all kinds of corporate donors like Bozeman Health and First Interstate Bank that have helped fund different projects for them. That's a major segment UM has been missing out on as well.

Once again, I have never disagreed with this.
