you are allowed to block as long as the ball is thrown behind the line of scrimmage (just like the shovel pass), the pic six that hill threw is the same thing, only in the flat......, taylor in this case is responsible for blocking and tying up the defensive back immediately leaving the receiver open....in all probability the pic six was on taylor and not hill at all....it is not a check down play, it is a called play..... the qb is taught to raise up and fire the ball asap, as the reception should be there...then the receiver tries to make a man miss, usually a safety or linebacker one on one for possible long yardage play. hill has taken most of the blame for this,,,even the interception over the middle that he had was a 50-50 ball imo and could have been fought for better by our guy....just trying to incorporate a little fair balance here to some degree.
