Frank Gogola Article

No, I am rarely bringing up cherry-picking. You have it backwards. The last 2 years are clearly the most relevant years. Yes, one could pick any amount of years. We could pick 20 years. Yes, this year is still in progress. As I have said several times, if the Cats don't win in Frisco, then the Griz 2 years are slightly better. If the Cats win in Frisco, then Cat two years are better. The more recent years are the most relevant for Hauck 2. I wouldn't say Griz are erratic. Seasons go up and down. We didn't get a good QB established as starter this year, as well as other things. Last year was a great season. Yes, Cats have built up their program. Why were the Cat so "erratic" last season? Griz are still rebuilding the program. UM is 1-2 in semifinals in last 2 season. After next season, there will be more data for both teams.

Lol. The most relevant year is this year.

I didn't even read it, pickle. You think a 17 year old is going to?
A 17-year-old probably doesn't read it. But his high school coaches and parents probably do, if not today, then it's unearthed when player X from California is looking at UM and his dad or coach starts looking into the school. Stuff like this is not irrelevant and does carry an influence.

I bet Frank enjoyed writing this article so much. Bobby is such a prick and so disrespectful to everyone in the press room.
Not to everyone….mostly to Frank…..but have you heard Franks idiotic questions. Can’t say I blame Hauck on that one. And I say this as someone who doesn’t think Bobby walks on water

Balogna. The FCS is watered down. The Griz have a giant Chinese weather balloon showing up on the radar. They are losing the battle to MSU and the Dakota schools. Hell, they lost to Weber. Yep. Weber! QB by committee for multiple years and a defense that isn’t getting it done. The formula for a natty isn’t the 3-3-5. Both lines are losing the battle in key games. More than anything, last year was an anomaly for a program that has exceptional history, facilities and support. Probably the best facilities in FCS.

The lines might not be the issue after this year. MSU is about to lose several o linemen to NIL money. Big dollars are going to be tough for a kid to walk away from.
$$nil is destroying NCAA football. Look at the Marshall debacle. This is pretty much what happens every year with MSU's Ol ine though. They lose their best players, but magically reload & get better. They seem to have embraced great coaching, recruiting, and development. And they stockpile a ton of linemen.

No way on coaches in CA reading it. Maybe a busy dad, but I would ignore or discount it if I read it as a dad. I wouldn’t relay in anything a sportswriter said in a small market. And who cares what fans think? 3 of my kids were recruited for college sports, including 2 for football. At least 6 nephews, including one for Griz, and another half dozen cousins played college football. My wife had 4 cousins from one family play college football including one for the Griz.

These things are cyclical, I'm old enough to have lived through a lot of cycles. um as a program has the resources that they should be a top 10 program every year. Even in a down year you are not far off from that. That all being said I think that Bobby 2.0 has missed it in the current environment of FCS football and I'm thinking that he doesn't like the way things are today.

I'm not going to get into details, but articles like this do play a part, albeit not a huge one, both from a parents and coaches standpoint as well as a negative recruiting standpoint. Its not just this article, but one like it and the narrative they can form over time. All I'm getting at is this is not as insignificant as you make it out to be. Having worked quite a few 7 on 7 camps throughout the west, word get around quick when things get bad.

I have filed this under unneeded context I don't care about.

The Griz have the 4th highest average finish in the post-season polls over last 5 years. This includes this season. Don’t think anyone else is close.

Oh BS. No kid or parent or coach cares if some fans would like their program more like another program. You have 7-7 camps. Great. I have kids, nephews and cousins who played football and have been been recruited. Do you play video games too?

Do you agree that 4 playoff wins is better than 2 wins and a home playoff loss? It’s hard to see my screen due to the bright sun at the pool.
This is so weird to just choose the past 2 seasons, one of which is ongoing (well, for one team anyway). Im not sure how the postseason record for this year and last is a flex when the Griz players are reading Frank's article and checking portal status while the players in Bozeman are prepping for a game on Saturday.

You could also ask about the record over the last 5 postseasons, where the neighbors are 9-4 compared to the Griz at 7-5. Oh and they were in the semifinals every year but one, while the Griz were in just one semifinal.

Weird take.

You don’t have online access at home? Did you drive somewhere to post your reply?

Just kidding. Read my post again, the point is I can use my library membership to access articles online without subscribing. And you may be able to as well, depending on your library’s services.
I don't have a library card/membership.

This isn't 1978.

It's not 1978, is it?
