For all the "move up" fans

Should have clarified in the first post:

-WAC takes the best of FCS out West/Middle of the country and the schools incapable of making the cut would find homes in the Big Sky, MVFC ex. Idea would not be to screw everyone but work out a home for everyone and only take those who want to and/or are capable to make the move.

And if we're only improving to be the best of a watered down FCS in terms of facilities I feel we are already there and everything else would be a waste of effort. We should have loftier goals in mind and pursue them rather then get left further behind.

The WAC is all kind of F#@#DUP. They aren't "TAKING" anybody that isn't desperate to move down. They couldn't even talk NAU into joining up with their band of losers.

If you want to talk about teams breaking off and forming a new league, there is probably a better chance of splitting the BSC in some sort of fashion. In that reguard, the have nots in the MTW may want to join in with the haves of the BSC. In that senario, the have nots of the BSC could join in with the WAC or form their own league.

I believe there will be a restructuring done within the next 5 years.

The WAC as an FCS Conference is screwed up as is their planning for wanting back into FBS, why my idea would try and improve/circumvent as many of those issues as possible. Plus with the waiver the Conference has it would mean 0 entry fees to FBS which would be a bonus.

Talk with other FCS Conferences, pick the teams that could and want to make the move, find everyone else new homes, execute. A much better plan then what they're doing now, granted it's a low bar.

The NCAAs power has been declining in recent years (the rumors of a break away are a symptom of this) and my idea isn't circumventing the NCAA. When the WAC dropped Football they were given a waiver that they could return as an FBS Conference if they met the requirements. No need to throw a fit over a mere different opinion.

It's really not that complex. The WAC could be a FBS conference if all of their schools were FBS. The WAC can not grant any sort of status to any of their schools. That is all up to the NCAA. So, I guess if SUU, Dixie and all of those other Texas schools were to be granted that status by the NCAA, then the WAC could be a FBS conference. I suppose that UM could join the WAC and wait for all of those schools to be bumped up to FBS status. Probably just as good of a chance of that as the MWC helping UM in that process. I'm sure that all of those teams are just itching for the opportunity to fly into UM for games.

I don't believe the WAC has any special way to move to FBS.

I am currently helping youngest daughter navigate financial aid packages. She will earn some scholarship money - both academic and athletic. But, depending on where the athletic money comes from - her tuition bill may still be absolutely outrageous. Amazing how friggin expensive school is now. Thankful the others got their mom's athletic genes as they got generous athletic scholarships.

Perhaps that is why tuition was on your mind - I know it is on mine.

I had high hopes of correcting those who drag the various discussions into the gutter, even flagging these posts for the mods. Maybe the mods dropped a note on the offenders(there are quite a few)but I really don't know what occurred. I would hope, as adults, some level of self awareness would prevail.
