Five Ranked in Preseason Coaches' Poll

shsu should be second. they return almost everyone. so does ndsu. no one is close to those two teams.
Don't say that!! Last year was bad enough seeing it twice. Not 3 times!! I hope someone steps up.

Don't take much stock in pre-season polls. It's all merely a guess. I think the Griz should be ranked in the top ten if you look at the talent. MD has a really talented team this year. Next year and going forward will be a different story. The Griz lose a lot of very talented players this year and with the scholarship losses it will greatly impact team depth. The Griz really need to capitalize on what they have this year. The talent is there for an excellent season but I don't know if the coaching is there to make it happen. Can't wait for the season to begin.

Are Georgia Southern and App State banned from polls as well as the playoffs this year? Doesn't seem like there's any respect for the Socon after Wofford at #5.

...And seeing that the next teams getting the most votes are Chattanooga and Samford, I think I answered my own question...

NDSU should be #1 and Sam Houston #2, both teams have played in the chipper the past two years and return most of their talent...

EWU, MSU, and UM will all find out what kind of teams they have early on as they have some difficult early games.

That's great news for Montana. Hopefully the Big Sky teams will remain ranked higher than Montana until gameday. I don't know when, if ever, the Big Sigh had five teams ranked in the top 25.

Very difficult:
Ewu plays Oregon St.
Montana plays App St.
msu plays powerhouse Monmouth

To open the season

It would be nice to see Monmouth get a victory to start the season off.

The Cats play SMU the next week. Who does the Griz play?
I believe the players, coaches, and fans get to watch SMU beat the cats like a rented mule. I wouldn't doubt Ash holds out his starters to avoid anymore "depth issues."

Nzone I don't think Ash will hold out any starters. If you knew anything about football you would know that when you play up you usually have less injuries as the opponent is usually fundamentally better. When you play down is when you get more injuries as the opponent is less proficient and more mistakes occur that can trigger injuries. Ask any coach and they will tell you the same thing!

Lets make it clear that in the fun of message boards I in no way want any cat player hurt in the SMU game or any other GAME. These are young men playing a dangerous GAME. I don't necessarily disagree with you but how did the term "body bag game" come about?

Nzone, That is a myth. Like I said, ask any coach and I think they will tell you the same thing. It does make sense.

Obviously you've never played the game

I think it was an excuse Bobby used for not playing up

NL Griz-I have played the game. And, like I said ask any coach and they will tell you that you get more injuries when you play down. Perfectly logical and makes sense.
