first four games

My concern is on August 31st.vs App State. They are going to be a very good test early and if we past that test we could be in line for a very good season. I agree the NAU game will be a pivotal game that will show how we will stack up in conference play. I'm confident that both those games are games we can win. I'm going out on the limb and say either 3-1 or 4-0. This is a very good team :thumb:

If the Griz jump out to a decent lead against NAU... NAU won't come back this time and not with this offense. Not a chance in the pits if hell.

Think so? I'm thinking more like 3-1, the toughest game to win of the four will be that game in flagstaff.

App. State is going to be good... Very good. NAU will be good as well IMO. You guys have a tough sched.

Optimus, I like your post. I like how poorgriz says "the Griz go 1-3 and you're in trouble". I aint in trouble for anything the Griz do or don't do. I won't get fired from my job, I'll wake up the next morning and if I don't it won't have anything to do with the Griz losing games. Noope, the Griz might well go 1-3 to start, and I won't be in trouble for any of it. Never got the you-we thing in sports.

Poor griz can't wrap around the fact that Montana is going to be a very good team. His wishful thinking will bring on a deep depression on himself.

Easily possible for you guys to have a fast start. A opening day win against a top 10 team that is transitioning to FBS would propel this team for sure. However, other than the much talked about coaching variable, I would say the next biggest concern is maintaining JJ's health. Not trying to troll here, but if he goes down everything changes (not for the better).

That's a good point. McKinney - per the updates we see - is improving, but he's no JJ.

Cats would be in the same boat if McGhee goes down.
Granted. None of us want DM to go down and I will not debate that point. That would be absolutely devastating for the Cats. However, JJ represents something to the grizz that is even bigger than the actual game. There is an emotional connection this team has with JJ that is based on living through total hell in the past year, and there's nothing analogous with DM. I contend that JJ going down has a much bigger impact on the grizz than DM going down for the Cats. JMO.

Tough to argue what ABC just said. JJ is the emotional leader of the offense, but I think that's true of most QB's, and I think it would be just as emotionally deflating to the team if DM went down for good too. I don't think it would mean the season is over if McKinney or Prukop had to step in and I think it's naive' to assume the rest of the team wouldn't bust their balls as hard because the guy they were close with wasn't on the field.

I am setting my sights and focus on game one, App State. After the performance on the field that game, I will look to game two, three etc... One game at a time folks! Let's win em one at a time.
Yes, please ... one game at a time.

Very true, but hypothetically if JJ does go down he can still be on the sideline as a leader, just like JT did two years ago when we had that big run. It gave Kanongata some quality time as a replacement, but Jordan Tripp was still there to lead and mentor JP. Not the same as being on the field but their character on the sideline is huge in a game situation.

And if we go 3-1 or 4-0, the entire BSC is in trouble. And if you're honest with yourself, the real likelihood of that occurring scares the shit outta you.
If a football team going 4-0 scares the shit out of you, you should check priorities in life...

This a griz football board...who's talking about life here....so my post is exposing your non football comment as a scat d-bag on our board... doing just that...being a d-bag. You come over here and bring up the Betty Ford Center...   Maybe Warm Springs is where you get your mail. His point is we go 4-0 and you most likely get rolled at home again...d-bag. :egriz:

When is your 18th birthday?

If the coaches learned anything from last year, a 3-1 start is a great possibility. The Griz take on a new look that may confuse some. The defense looks solid, but time will tell. I hope time tells us we are in for a long ride!!!!!!

Of course the entire BSC is in trouble, it's back to normal around here (Msla).

Shouldn't you play a few games first before declaring "it's back to normal"... Just sayin...

I didn't realize the tough schedule the Griz had until checking it out recently. I think the Griz will be in the mix for a Big Sky Championship this year, but I think expecting 10 wins in the regular season might be a high expectation. I see 9-3, 8-4.

By "you're in trouble"... obviously I meant the griz football team.

Nope... feel free to check any of my predictions. I've said all along that you'll be a good team, with the potential to be very good (9-3 tops) if things bounce your way. I've predicted all along that you'll be an 8-4 team, squeak into playoffs with an away first round game. The only other likely possibilities being 7-5 or 9-3. I think you're going to have eight very tough games that could go down to the wire.

Nothing I disagree with, except the away game part. Not happening, regardless of our record. Hosts are determined by bid (in the first round at least), and the only teams that I could see possibly outbidding us are NDSU (who is getting a bye, period), and App State before they were made ineligible.

Gents, take one game at a time. Just because you "think" you know what the enemey will do, doesn't mean he will in battle. Each team is going to set up from what they see from the previous week. And as we all know the plan of adjustments is huge from then on, because the enemy isn't going to play the way you saw it on film that's for sure.

My two cents. Cya all in a few weeks GO GRIZ!!
