the idea of "calling out Fritz" was certainly not the best one of the day. I've known him going back to his time at the gazette and I know he's both a good reporter and a good writer.
I'm also pretty sure he knows more than what he wrote, because a news guy is usually in trouble if he/she writes everything they know on a subject.
I too was surprised when I saw Speltz for Fritz as the fb beat writer, but it could have happened for a lot of reasons -- either from Fritz or Messeroll. There are some other guys who've covered Griz fb who are still at the paper, including the sports editor who covered Dave D's debut as well as Kim Briggeman.
But Fritz's work stands on its own.
I'm also pretty sure he knows more than what he wrote, because a news guy is usually in trouble if he/she writes everything they know on a subject.

John Wristen from CSU-Pueblo is a very appealing candidate, however, it appears he has had some sort of domestic abuse in his past per the comments of this article related to John's near hiring at Eastern Michigan last year. I don't think those skeletons will fly here.

I want to take a second and apologize for starting a shit storm. Further, I'll apologize to Fritz again. I will be very honest. Last week I received news that we lost our child that my wife was carrying. I did the very thing I've always tried to live by..don't drink and post.
I was very upset, had a few, saw Brint's post, got excited then later saw Fritz's and it just set me off. I vented in a wrong way but trying to be a man and own my screw up, I didn't ask any mod to take this down. After all, you own what you post.
Additionally, I'm sorry for throwing someone in the middle like Brint who had nothing to do with this.
I think its fair to say I don't know anything about the in's and out's of journalism. I can barely complete a post without a small amount of grammatical errors.
Also, to any of those who are close to Fritz, i also apologize.

I'm a fan of the Griz and I appreciate the effort Brint puts into eGriz, Monte/pickle/alpha/douche/whatever. If you're so smart and well-written, perhaps you could spend more time composing and less time flitting around hijacking every thread that doesn't comport to your narrow view of what Griz football should be. I notice you didn't actually comment on Fritz bonafides. I know the guy from way back. You're simply wrong. End of story.
