Saccat. I'm sure this has already been suggested on E-Griz, but maybe the cats should quit embarrassing themselves and the rest of Montana with the whole "M" on the helmet thing. Let's just castrate all male cat fans/students and replace the "M" with a more approriate "L" and call it a day.

Look, there's multiple factors leading to your University going to shit. None of which your administration is capable of handling or overcoming. There are a lots of issues that are also beyond anyone's control.

This turnaround you're hoping for isn't anywhere in the near future.

I can't agree to castration of all Cats male fans. But if we take the "M" off our helmets, will grizzly fans agree to take the griz off theirs? You know since you stole that from us? Look it up....

I would take a wager on that for any amount you are willing to lose. But, unfortunately you're a cat fan, and therefore I'm 90% certain you wouldn't pay up.

Case of beer says MSU leads UM in enrollment in 5 years

UM is trying to get built a cute new toy for the jocks to play with.

MSU is working on a $350 million campaign to add new buildings both to handle the ANTICIPATED GROWTH in enrollment and research facilities. When the University is strong, the Athletics department can spend whatever the f*** they want. The changes in the department are meant to drive Athletics to excellence. No more f***[*] around. Athletics is the main marketing vehicle and it's not holding up its end. She wants to rebuild the East side and bowl in the north end of the stadium as well as build an indoor practice facility.

THAT is going to get done in the next decade. She's got her foot on your neck and has absolutely no intention of letting you up for air.

Look it up? Thanks, but I don't believe I will. Mostly because I don't have to. You see, I'm a Griz fan. Always have been, always will be. As such, I've experienced an unbelievable run of winning against the cats in all the sports that matter. It's been truly awesome. Believe me when I say, you have no idea! You've been a cat fan for a long time. Losing is in your DNA at this point. That losing gene was passed on to your children. Now your children are losers. Their children will be even bigger losers, and the cycle will repeat itself until there's nothing left in clowntown but a bunch of losers showing up every saturday to watch their team lose. Open your eyes...it's already begun.

This explains why the fans get so much enjoyment by the fake run out of a ridiculous inflatable cat's mouth. Their children might as well be eating lead-based paint chips.

Did you just call my children losers? I mean...did you, a grown adult, just call my 9 year old boy, and a 6 year old girl a loser? PLEASE tell me you just said that...Holy shit please tell me you said that.

Exactly Ursa. The cats haven't beaten the Griz in clowntown since Gerald Ford was president, yet every other year they send a "team" out through the clown's mouth while the fans claw feverishly at the air and the PA plays a toilet flushing sound. My only real concern is that American Standard will come swooping in and offer to bankroll the athletic department in exchange for stadium naming rights.

You are a cat fan. If you are the biological father of your children, then yes, they now carry the loser gene. I don't see what you're getting so worked up about. It's basic science.

All is not well in Wombatland.

http://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/news/montana_state_university/msu-research-taken-down-a-notch-in-carnegie-ranking/article_37a72f09-9d3d-5dcf-aa2b-6c57b904523a.html

MSU downgraded in Carnegie research ranking. From Bozeman Chronicle comments:
What a bunch of BS. When Tom McCoy was in charge of research, the research dollars couldn't come fast enough. Then he got tired of too much "supervision" by Cruzado and left. Now we got what we got: second-best.
The house of cards cruzado built is looking shaky. Fat paychecks for the administrators and bloated construction projects may make some cruzado fans but undermining research and quality education is starting to catch up with her. The morale of the faculty and staff was already low, now this. Certainly this is a bigger sin than Rob Ash ever committed. Perhaps it's time for Cruzado to go....
A colleague at MSU emailed last night noting that several MSU Vice Presidents have quit under Cruzado, including the VP of Finance who was known to be a stickler for accounting and accountability -- and who quit "abruptly" -- as have seven Deans.

Seven Deans quitting in such a short period of time is extraordinary, unheard of in my experience.

The "Deans" are the backbone of the academic mission side of the University. To lose seven of them in such a short time practically guts a University's ability to plan, have continuity, and achieve goals. Too many new people are starting from scratch. That explains the loss of the research institution ranking under Cruzado.

The faculty is demoralized; they see Cruzado as high-handed, more interested in optics than concrete results, constantly engaging in "outreach" to various groups without having substantive goals set to discuss, and with no background whatsoever in engineering, sciences and research, thinks they are reflected by dollar numbers on a page rather than tangible progress on "program building" in part, the complaint goes, by failing to hire people competent to do research, engineering and sciences, hiring instead very junior faculty (which are a lot cheaper) which is what MSU has been doing -- shortchanging students who attend for a "good" education.

Or, like Ash and Fields, they weren't performing as expected. You won't find the folks leaving suggesting this is the case. Ask coach Ash.

And, therein lies the strategy for funding those athletic program shortfalls, by hiring very junior faculty, Cruzado frees up money to subsidize the football program. She has made it a point to underfund faculty hires, which is why MSU's research ranking dropped; the senior faculty is leaving. The education mission is specifically suffering at MSU in order to support delusions of adequacy in a failing football program.

As Bozeman Chronicle readers are suggesting, perhaps Cruzado should follow him.

Various articles by the Bozeman Chronicle over the past three years suggest that it is the faculty that is staying that is complaining the loudest; that it is Cruzado that is not performing "as expected," as shown by the loss to the Griz, er, the loss of its prized research ranking -- a far more substantial failure than the loss to the Griz. Indeed, current faculty is asking precisely that question. If Ash is fired for having a winning record overall -- better than Bob Stitt's at CSM -- because he didn't win some key football games, isn't that an appropriate metric for academic failure? Failure to maintain "a winning record?" Loss of a key metric? An exodus of key administrators and faculty? Isn't she just like Peter Fields? Except, she's damaging the education mission?

Interesting insight, 75. Perhaps this will be the straw that broke the camels back. Just WHAT does it take for the Board of Regents to do its job? Except for enrollment figures, this is like a script written and played out for the past five years.

UM is sinking because of the curriculum. You can't afford to live in this country with a liberal arts degree. I know there are other degrees offered like the pharmacy program, but compared to MSU, you guys don't stand a chance with the degrees being offered. You realize that 95% of the degree offerings are the same at both universities, right?

Harvard is a liberal arts school. Can you make a living with a degree from it?

They're not what? Take a look at the degree offerings. The ONLY differences are in the Professional Schools (Engineering/Forestry/PT, etc). You can get degrees at msu in English, Childhood development, History, Education, Liberal Studies, Foreign Languages, Music, Film Studies, Art, Anthrop, American Studies, Poly Sci, Psych, Religious Studies, Sociology, Women's Studies, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Those are CLASSIC liberal arts degrees. And they're all available at good ol' msu.

More pitty kitty delusion. Shocking!
