Ash is actively contacting boosters for their support for his application for the AD job. You can't make this stuff up.
and yet you did...

this is not true. although he does have a lot of support it sounds like if he chooses to throw his hat in. he won't get the job even if he did. but my guess is he won't. no matter how many people lobby for it on facebook...
I made up nothing. I personally know two MSU Boosters in Billings who were contacted by Ash today. Of course he won't get the job, but it exemplifies the circle jerk that is MSU athletics.

I'm getting the sense that all the anger and hate of the cat posters is starting to ramp up a notch or two. A fair number of them are old enough to have lived through "The Streak" and it scarred them mentally for life. Having lived through "The Streak", they recognize what it feels like to witness the next one and they're scared that history is repeating itself right before their eyes. Even worse, their children are starting to be affected. Bullied and made fun of at school by their Griz fan school-mates and faced with the reality that, as cat fans, they will grow up to be losers has to be difficult. I can't even imagine.

Well said Snap, very well said!

Thanks Dan. It's a harsh reality. Any child born to a cat fan in the last three years has been bombarded subconsciously by negativity and hate every November. Maybe it's time to drop the msu football team down to NAIA where they can compete. If they can't do it for themselves, perhaps they can do it for the children.

First off...since I watched that amazing uplifting, parents how to video, called "trophy parents" I have been telling my kids how much they suck every day.

B) I was 9 when "The streak" started...and I remember EVERY FUCKING GAME....You are God damn right that scarred me...

5th) I will rase my kids how a want, and you will NOT tell me different. I raise my kids to know, that when a drug dealer goes bad...you take care of the problem...even in a field. I also teach them not to rape women..

Wow that is truly bizarre. You couldn't make something up that was stranger than that.

LTCF, I never said anything you're accusing me of saying. But to counter your point, and I suppose this bothers you, as cashed-strapped as the football program is as you claim it to be, the Champions Center, which is only HALF funded by the Washington's is breaking ground next week, and, in time for the 2016 season, Wash-Griz is getting a brand new Ultra High-Def Big Screen, as well as other cosmetic facelifts for the third straight summer. UM is also in the early stages of putting together a pretty ambitious plan to bring all internal facilities in the Adams Center, i.e. basketball and olympic sports lockerrooms, as well as offices and medical training facilities up to par with the Champions Center. So, while I do know all the financial woes you speak of, these projects are moing full steam ahead, and as a I mentioned earlier, not even close to all of it is being funded by the Washington's as many MSU posters usually like to assume.

At any rate, I tried talking to you in a civil and discussed manner. You're simply not interested. So I'll give up on that.

LTCF, you're a very intelligent poster, and a passionate Cat Fan. I respect both things even if you have zero respect for the Griz or Griz fans. It doesn't change my sentiments one bit. But damn you're impossible to talk to on here. You let your Griz hatred completely out-shine your intelligence or even basic reading skills.

It's like, I say I wasn't mad at Gunnar Brekke for switching his commitment. Oh, Hav, you're stupid. LOL. And in this thread, all I said was, this board was not intended to talk about regular university issues. I did not say they don't exist, in fact, I said, they are very, very important. But I know Chris, I know he didn't start this board for those discussions, and in fact, there's a forum on here for politics, which most university issues are. I never said football wasn't an extension of the university, I said this board wasn't meant to discuss such topics, and as a result, and in keeping with the original intent of this board, I asked you what FOOTBALL ONLY issues have you feeling like Griz fans are delusional. I guess I should have been more specific, as in, are we delusional about recruiting? playoffs? the future of the team BETWEEN THE LINES? Things like that, you know, things that Chris invented this board to discuss. And all I got back again was, you're stupid, UM is in financial crisis, blah, blah, blah.

I'm not sure why you are so hard to talk to, and I just can't imagine this is really that enjoyable for you to be here.

Hav, I think you need to re read that other thread. You're fabricating your facts a bit.

Again, you've got a few posters on here acting like UM is NDSU even though UM hasn't won a national title since '01 nor a conference title since '09. Delusion. Couple that to the fact that the financial duress that the University is facing, makes the task of reaching those goals even harder to attain. I'm not sure if you think the financial problems of the university don't affect the football program. Your post seems to indicate that's what you believe. And if that's the case, yeah, you're stupid. When the University is strapped for cash, so too is the football program. There's a few posters on here who believe Montana should be the only D1 FBS program in the state. Even though UM, with its financial woes, wouldn't be able to fund such a move. More delusion.

If you don't like what I've got to say, there's a really simple solution. Add me to your foes list, then you don't have to read it.

LTCF. You're shitfaced right now I assume. The Griz have rung up the cats for the last three years even with a scholly reduction. The scholly thing ends now. It's only getting worse for you. While the cats hold bake sales on BN to put a new coat of paint on the East side grandstands, E-Griz raises a couple hundred grand to add to the Champions Center fund. It's embarrassing for the cats. Thanks for being such love-able losers though.
Oh you sum bitch [emoji23]

Isn't this shit fun? A whole lot of changes for both schools in different areas happening right now. We both think we're building something to knock each other out. The next five years will be very interesting and could determine a lot of things farther into the future.

Go Cats

I know that all those things are happening, and that is great for recruiting...And I know that the actual UM academics layoffs should be talked about on another part of the board, but eventually the layoffs WILL EFFECT the athletic department. You have to know this.

SACCAT, I know they are already affecting athletics. I'm not being naive about that. But I also know it won't amount to the doomsday scenario that LTCF seems to think it's going to. UM will not drop to Division II football or junior college or whatever he said. It's just not going to happen. I'm sorry, it's just not. But yes, you're right, there are budget problems happening right now in UM Athletics. No one, including Kent Haslam is denying that. But like I said, doomsday isn't coming, and if it turns out I'm wrong, I'll be the very first poster here to admit I was wrong.

You are right, it's not doomsday, but it is amazing how many people on this board think that academics don't matter, just football (and basketball when they pay attention.) To me (and I grew up in Bozeman, and went to school U Minnesota ) I bleed Blue and gold (or what ever shade of yellow we pick next) and I am proud of the fact that our president seems to care about both. And our new coach for football does too.

You don't think we find this laughable as well? You don't think we want that to change?

SAC, academics matter to me very much, and i know for a fact they do to Bob Stitt too. Not that I;m suggesting you too, but you should see the high school GPA's of this recruiting class. I've never seen anything like it. Stitt has made it very clear what he wants and expects in the classroom.

Good for him. But 3/4 of this class will never see the field by the time they are seniors. And 90% of this recruiting class will leave school with nothing more than college football memories, and a degree....And that degree is the most important thing.

Great Point Snap! It's tough enough being a child today without being tarnished and labeled as a pathetic cat fan. The abuse these poor children are subjected to is very sad. Due to "The Streak" We have a generation of "losers" raising "losers". I don't know about you, but I believe that harsh measures need to be taken. Should cat fans be allowed to procreate? China did a masterful job in limiting it's population with the "one child policy". Perhaps these "cat children" should go to a loving Griz home so they don't have to endure the shame, desperation and the social stigma associated with growing up as a cat fan? Although controversial, is eugenics a possible solution here? Serious question. Get a worthless msu degree and be forced to endure sterilization? These are the questions I hope our policy makers are willing to wrestle with during the next legislative session. Like you Snap, I worry about the children. We need Sally Struthers' commercials to flood the airways to save these innocent children. Perhaps Sarah McLachlan could write a song to save these poor "cat children".

The bolded portion of your post strikes deep into the "cat problem." Loser cat parents are predisposed to raise loser cat children. It's simple evolutionary genetic theory. The more you lose, the more likely it is that you will continue to lose. Perhaps a majority of cat fans are creationists. That might explain why every year they win the pre-season national championship..."POOF, last year never happened. We're the best"!

Can I take it a step further? Being on the losing end and feeling like "losers" growing up, we Cats fans then feel the need to empower ourselves to do more with our lives. Maybe...juuust maybe, we try a little harder at actual life, while still telling our poor, unknowing influential children, that "good things are coming for the Cats" Maybe....juuuust maybe.....they will build off that disappointment, and reach goals never before seen in human kind....you know, maybe.
