Fields is done in Bozo

It appears that MSU moved down to the second tier of research universities, not because of the dollars it spends on research, Cruzado wrote, but because of its relatively small number of graduate students earning Ph.D.s, compared to other universities.

Cruzado wrote that MSU is “determined to double our research expenditures in the next decade” and to “focus on recruiting graduate students.”

“Paired with other accomplishments – increased enrollment at all levels, increased quality of incoming classes, the best retention and graduation rates in the state, record number of construction projects and increased donor giving – I know enhancing the recognition of our research is something we can accomplish sooner rather than later,” Cruzado wrote. “We are MSU: We have what it takes.”

Look, there's multiple factors leading to your University going to shit. None of which your administration is capable of handling or overcoming. There are a lots of issues that are also beyond anyone's control.
All is not well in Wombatland.

MSU downgraded in Carnegie research ranking. From Bozeman Chronicle comments:
What a bunch of BS. When Tom McCoy was in charge of research, the research dollars couldn't come fast enough. Then he got tired of too much "supervision" by Cruzado and left. Now we got what we got: second-best.
The house of cards cruzado built is looking shaky. Fat paychecks for the administrators and bloated construction projects may make some cruzado fans but undermining research and quality education is starting to catch up with her. The morale of the faculty and staff was already low, now this. Certainly this is a bigger sin than Rob Ash ever commited. Perhaps it's time for Cruzado to go....

Truth. The cats are at the bottom of the barrel athletically, and at the top of a bubble enrollment-wise. The foundation is crumbling but cat posters seem blissfully unaware and are reveling in a 3 game losing streak for some reason. I don't get it.

The difference...our enrollment will eventually rebound, Cat sports...maybe not.

Ha! Not unless the basis for the economy drastically changes from science and technology.

Not unless the recruitment and marketing strategies at UM changes drastically.

Not unless UM does more to expand their offerings in the health care field.

And Neither of the last two are going to happen with the current administration.

Cat Sports? If UM crumbles under its own weight, it's a definite absolute.

Put down the crack pipe and check back in a few years.

You're sounding like doc now...you know better.

LTCF. You're bitter, angry, frustrated and beat down by what has been a lifetime of Griz dominance in football. As a cat fan, I'm sure it's been difficult. You've, for the most part, dealt with it very well. I suggest you give your kids life tips for surviving in Montana as an unhappy, angry cat fan having to live amongst happy, successful Griz fans for the rest of their lives.

I'm sorry if it's not what you want to hear. But you know I'm right. You know, that every day Engstrom remains, the hole gets deeper and deeper. And you're right, I'm trying to sound like a condescending prick right now, because there's a few dipshits around here that talk like UM is NDSU, but has the financial duress of Portland State. Someone needed to pop the delusion bubble.

Pretty cool guy but still hard to be like a Mets fan, second best game in town but light years behind the big dogs.

Not denying we're going through a dicey stretch right now for various reasons, but I don't think I'll climb out on a ledge waiting for Rome to burn...this too shall pass. Hopefully sooner than later.

Good god. I step away from eGriz for a couple hours and ltcf takes a half dozen standing eight counts, and a few full-on knockout blows.

That's a good comparison jodcon. Griz are the Yankees of FCS football and that won't change for a very long time. I know that cat fans wish otherwise, but now they're mired in a bad firing/bad hiring scenario with Ash/choate that will leave them in the dust. Griz fans may want to hold on tight cause Bob Stitt is taking us on a rocket-ride back to the top of FCS football (and, perhaps, beyond). He's bringing in FBS level recruiting classes while the beer-league staff in clown-town recruits like they're trying to defeat Carroll. The brawl in Wa-Griz this November is gonna be ugly.

I had to laugh, your post was one cliche from being a Growler post.

LTCF, you're a very intelligent poster, and a passionate Cat Fan. I respect both things even if you have zero respect for the Griz or Griz fans. It doesn't change my sentiments one bit. But damn you're impossible to talk to on here. You let your Griz hatred completely out-shine your intelligence or even basic reading skills.

It's like, I say I wasn't mad at Gunnar Brekke for switching his commitment. Oh, Hav, you're stupid. LOL. And in this thread, all I said was, this board was not intended to talk about regular university issues. I did not say they don't exist, in fact, I said, they are very, very important. But I know Chris, I know he didn't start this board for those discussions, and in fact, there's a forum on here for politics, which most university issues are. I never said football wasn't an extension of the university, I said this board wasn't meant to discuss such topics, and as a result, and in keeping with the original intent of this board, I asked you what FOOTBALL ONLY issues have you feeling like Griz fans are delusional. I guess I should have been more specific, as in, are we delusional about recruiting? playoffs? the future of the team BETWEEN THE LINES? Things like that, you know, things that Chris invented this board to discuss. And all I got back again was, you're stupid, UM is in financial crisis, blah, blah, blah.

I'm not sure why you are so hard to talk to, and I just can't imagine this is really that enjoyable for you to be here.

I'm getting the sense that all the anger and hate of the cat posters is starting to ramp up a notch or two. A fair number of them are old enough to have lived through "The Streak" and it scarred them mentally for life. Having lived through "The Streak", they recognize what it feels like to witness the next one and they're scared that history is repeating itself right before their eyes. Even worse, their children are starting to be affected. Bullied and made fun of at school by their Griz fan school-mates and faced with the reality that, as cat fans, they will grow up to be losers has to be difficult. I can't even imagine.

Well said Snap, very well said!

I don't know about LTCF, but I can tell you why I like coming over here..

1)CDAGRIZ (I think that's right...you know who I am taking about). He is the funniest, quickest whit poster I have ever seen.

2) The massive "Jump to conclusions" board that is Egriz.

3) (really should be 1.1 but whatever, I have been drinking my sorrows away about our "Frontier recruiting class) is AZGRIZ. He also seems to get it, but still is great at destroying people with his wit.

4) As much as I hate EVERYTHING about the griz, I am not to stupiderer to realize what you are, and the success you have had for over 20 years now.

5) You can all still go fuck yourselves...GO CATS.

Hav, I think you need to re read that other thread. You're fabricating your facts a bit.

Again, you've got a few posters on here acting like UM is NDSU even though UM hasn't won a national title since '01 nor a conference title since '09. Delusion. Couple that to the fact that the financial duress that the University is facing, makes the task of reaching those goals even harder to attain. I'm not sure if you think the financial problems of the university don't affect the football program. Your post seems to indicate that's what you believe. And if that's the case, yeah, you're stupid. When the University is strapped for cash, so too is the football program. There's a few posters on here who believe Montana should be the only D1 FBS program in the state. Even though UM, with its financial woes, wouldn't be able to fund such a move. More delusion.

If you don't like what I've got to say, there's a really simple solution. Add me to your foes list, then you don't have to read it.

Thanks Dan. It's a harsh reality. Any child born to a cat fan in the last three years has been bombarded subconsciously by negativity and hate every November. Maybe it's time to drop the msu football team down to NAIA where they can compete. If they can't do it for themselves, perhaps they can do it for the children.

LTCF. You're shitfaced right now I assume. The Griz have rung up the cats for the last three years even with a scholly reduction. The scholly thing ends now. It's only getting worse for you. While the cats hold bake sales on BN to put a new coat of paint on the East side grandstands, E-Griz raises a couple hundred grand to add to the Champions Center fund. It's embarrassing for the cats. Thanks for being such love-able losers though.
