Ferris State

Amazing. Opinions all over the spectrum. Anyone ever admit they were wrong? Six more days to claim your victory, or admit you were wrong. Or duck and cover, and hope it all blows over.

I’ll be happy to admit I’m wrong. If it ever happens.

Don't you still owe some streaking from being wrong? Apologies if I am wrong. (Don't believe so although)

Did anybody watch how Bobby called off the dogs last week, ahead 36-0 at half and 43-0 end of 3rd? Unless Ferris' coach is a turd Bobby will not run up the score. Only way we go +50 is our 3's are better than their 1's.

I think the difference is Ferris is a DII and after they had to come from behind this past week they may not be as good as people think and may loose a DII game or two. How would it look if you were not dominant. So not sure you want a DII that is not a total blow out on your record come seeding time.

Beware, the dawgs are coming.. Ferris wins this game by one score. They have the "it" factor that Montana does not.. I think we will schedule "big brother" Montana State next.

Montana Tech just beat Central Washington. Griz need to come out as if they are playing an FCS team an put them away. The old cliche’ .. the longer you let them hang around comes to mind.

That was how I felt during the Butler game. Let the keep "hanging around, hanging around"...

Also for those of you wondering, the last time Ferris State played an FCS opponent was all the way back in 2013 when they lost to NDSU 56-10, and as you recall, that may have been NDSU's best team ever through this entire run. It's been a long time since Ferris State has played a D1 opponent. Will be interesting to see if that's a factor or not

Unless there is some chickensh*t extracurricular activity, like a late hit by a Butler player, then all bets are off.

Griz by 40...

Never seen Griz fans so scared about a team that beat Ashland by 10... Who the F is Ashland?

Really?

been saying this along. It will be a joke. I would not be surprised if it is by more than 50. I posted last night they were trailing ashland at the start of the 4th quarter and their last score was with 30 seconds left in the game. Ashland is 0-2. What will the people who are so worried and think it will test us say after the beat down? Griz are really good or Ferris is just a division II school....

Who will win the best tailgate? More exciting to have this sort of competition versus the "competition" in the stadium. None the less, things to sort out for the Griz, hopefully no injuries...and of course will be fun!

The same Montana Tech that many on this board don’t want to play. Of course, they are from a lesser division, but one game per year won’t jeopardize our play off chances.

Opposing fan who registered to simply state that this is the most idiotic reasoning I have seen. How does a game which does not count as even being played by the selection committee unless the team LOSES not jeopardize your playoff chances?

All right, you can ban me or whatever now. I just needed to say that.

Scheduling is tough, so there will likely be future games on said schedule that aren't to everyone's liking. The first reality is that Kent needs to sell tickets, you can't have an open weekend for lack of a team to play at home because the loss of revenues would be catastrophic for the program. I can't blame him for finding a team to fill the hole in the schedule because we can't entice a team from our own conference, or more than one team from east of the Mississippi to show up. That would likely require a home and home, which means less revenue overall.

That said, making the playoffs is the primary concern. Not just the tournament, but a seeded spot, preferably in the first four, which likely means running the table on your season, unless you lost by four points to the number one team in the division. A D2 win on a perfect season, all things being equal, might not get you that when the committee sits down at Thanksgiving. Kent also knows this. He has met the requirement for his first and most pressing concern. And likely done a bang up job of promoting something that would have been a snooze fest without the uniforms and hype. If he can get them, those non-cons need to be against FBS, FCS and then all others in that order, drawing the line at D2. I'd hate to "make the tournament" for the umpteenth year, only to be sent over to the Dakotas for a spanking, which has occurred, every, single time. But then again, just making it to the field, is good enough for some. I don't count myself among those folks.

I disagree. If That D2 win is included in a "running the table" season, you're conference co-champs AT WORST, and you're getting a top 4 seed.
