I just suggest you don't play games and come right out and admit you are off the bandwagon, your fair-weather fandom has diminished, because you predict that the Griz will just suck. AZ only supports winners. AZ, what college team has "earned" your new allegiance?

I’ll answer that as I sit here in my Griz shirt, with my Griz flag flying on the flagpole, and having sent my Christmas list full of Griz stuff to my wife a few moments ago……you sound like PR now. Predicting mediocrity doesn’t make me a bad fan. Just realistic. You chastised me earlier this season for believing Bobby’s hype about this team. Well, I won’t make that mistake again. I’m going to set the bar so low they can’t HELP but outperform it. Reverse psychology. Get it, Mr. Psychologist?

You have to say, "Hope I'm wrong, but . . ." C'mon, AZ, is this fukking amateur hour?

Apparently.

Ferris is the real deal. They get a lot out of their kids. They've had 6-7 kids signed as NFL FA in the past couple years. I believe there is 2 currently playing on Sunday. They beat Central Washington 36-20. They won't be coming to Missoula to look at the mountains. It would be embarassing if we lost but don't ever think it couldn't happen. Their coach won a number of state championships in Michigan. Then he went to Grad Rapids JC and in 2 years won the national championship. GR JC dropped football and Ferris signed him. He's never had a lossing season at Ferris.

I don't know how he does it because their stadium is smaller then Missoula CO stadium. Grand Valley stadium seats around 16-17000 and they have a spectacular indoor facility. GV has 30000 students. Ferris has had their number the last few years. I don't know how thier coach Tony Annese gets the talent he does recruiting against GV.

So what you're saying is he is a potential coaching candidate?

My opinion is the game should have never been scheduled in the first place and the administration should have put time and effort into another FCS program for that date in 2023.
You have no idea how much time and effort the AD put into securing an FCS game for that date. Doesn't keep you in all your knowledge from whining about their failure.

Anyone know the last time NDSU played a DII team? I bet you have to go wayyy back.

It can't be that hard if others do it...

Our last D2 game was in 2014, one year after their last D2 game against...Ferris State lol

Schools will get out of contracts if they can make more money for their school. Cal Poly isn't going to drop a home game against San Diego to go on the road however. There are things that can still be done for next season in regards to the Division II on the schedule. The Griz can still pay the cancellation fee to Ferris State which I believe they SHOULD do. How hard are they willing to work though, to bring in an FCS (pay that new school) or travel on the road to play a FBS money game on that date in September? I think they should bring in another FCS and pay the fee to Ferris State. Someone should get that exact amount from Kent. My opinion is the game should have never been scheduled in the first place and the administration should have put time and effort into another FCS program for that date in 2023.

There is absolutely no way the Griz give up a home game, even if we were paid $950K to travel to Florida or something. This fanbase cares more about 6 home games, albeit one against a DII school, than 5 home games by losing one to a FBS money game.

In case you want to watch that National Championship game, it's this Saturday Dec 17 on ESPNU at 11:30 AM

I show the game is also on ESPN+. Right now, ESPN is showing the game at 10 AM PST, which is my time zone. I don’t get ESPNU. I’m assuming most people who don’t live in Montana, subscribe to ESPN plus, so that they can watch the GRIZ. This looks like an interesting game to watch, being the matchup with the Mines.

Not sure how updated this is (it does have Lamar @ Idaho listed from a couple days ago) but it seems like a good resource: https://fbschedules.com/future-college-football-schedules/

It would be cool to have a game against EWU or Weber State since we don't play them next year but EWU already has 11 games set. WSU only has 10 opponents but they are not going to give up Sep 16 @Utah. WSU has open dates of Sep 2 and Oct 28.

Here's some possibilities from Western teams:

Abilene Christian (from TX, WAC)
https://fbschedules.com/2023-abilene-christian-football-schedule/
-As mentioned, Sep 16 open date with only 4 set dates (they had 6 non-conference games this past 2022 season)

Cal Poly (from CA, Big Sky)
https://fbschedules.com/2023-cal-poly-football-schedule/
-Have 2 open dates with Sep 16 being one of them but 11 teams on their schedule already (@San Diego's date isn't set yet but will probably be scheduled for Sep 16)

San Diego (from CA, Pioneer)
https://fbschedules.com/2023-san-diego-football-schedule/
-Only game listed is hosting Cal Poly but no set date

Nicholls (from LA, Southland)
https://fbschedules.com/2023-nicholls-football-schedule/
-Open Sep 16 and only 8 set games but already 5 away games

Texas A&M Commerce (from TX, Southland)
https://fbschedules.com/2023-texas-am-commerce-football-schedule/
-Open Sep 16 and Sep 23 and need another team but have 6 away and only 4 home games scheduled so far

Incarnate Word (from TX, Southland)
https://fbschedules.com/2023-uiw-football-schedule/
-Open Sep 16, Sep 23, and Sep 30. Only 9 of 11 games set. 5 away and 4 home so far. Name recognition of a semi-finalist (at least)

This was just relatively quick, focusing on western conferences with Sep 16 open dates but might be more from eastern or even MVFC. Plus maybe other options if teams have ability to switch other open dates with a scheduled Sep 16 opponent.

Amazing how much scheduling assistance can be realized from all the eGriz ADs. Piece of cake.

You should use the word "knowledge" less.

My god.

You guys aren’t losing to Fucking Ferris St. What the hell is going on over here?!

Someone bookmark this. If griz lose to fucking Ferris St I’ll donate $250 for school lunches at any Missoula school you pick.

This will be 8 months away so bookmark this.

I’ll do the same thing when the griz win.

The top 2-3 Div II teams can certainly beat a middle of the pack FCS team. Little sister to the current Big bro team had better take this seriously.
But it wouldn't be like losing to Humboldt State or Chadron State would it...
