Wait... do EWU fans think there's going to be a "changing of the guard" too?

The smoke was awful, the crowd was pretty much non existent until the end and had Montana not pulled off that victory in dramatic fashion that would have been a dump of a game.

So yeah, go ahead and keep thinking the FCS world spins around Missoula, but the fact is it doesn't. In this era of big TV markets and an explosion of college football on TV, EWU has been on ESPN and ESPN2 far more than Montana. In fact if you went and looked at the last 6 or 7 years, you could probably find a half or dozen or so times where EWU was on ESPN 2 in a quarterfinal or semifinal game or the national championship game (and the kickoff game on ESPN).
This is pointless to argue. You guys are so god damn delusional when it comes to FCS football. Despite all that EWU has done and how far the program has come you are too block headed to see reality and the changing landscape.

You guys only got it because the Griz and Bison didn't want to move their game up...so yeah, keep thinking you're all hot shitIt's Never A Great Day To Be An Eagle said:Bertram said:It was around this time last year ESPN announced the UM Vs. I am thinking NDSU and EWU reschedule their already in the books meeting a week or two earlier (Not sure Fargo or Red Carpetville are great venues for TV though) .
Bruh, we already had the FCS kickoff game two years ago... You know, before Montana did it. EWU was the first choice of ESPN to start this yearly tradition. So clearly ESPN thought it was just fine for TV.
Get off your high horse.

and what time is kick off for your... oh wait. you sound like a bobcat with the changing landscape argument. how did that work out for you this year, still butt hurt over getting 57 put on you? its pointless to argue about who's delusional when we are playing Saturday and you are not.
One time man. One time.
How did the previous five years work out for you?
Enjoy this brief honeymoon phase because come next year power will restore itself and the Sky conf will once again be EWUs.
Trust me ESPN doesn't choose ew non-qualifier university for their high school venue and I have yet to hear anyone outside ew not complain about watching that hideous red carpet. You have been chosen simply because EW has had some damn good teams which you should when you get to recruit from an instate population of 7M. But, you will never ever hear a commentator talk about the great atmosphere etc. For example you wont see a video like the following coming out of ew. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2cmAVadiQ4Great Day To Be An Eagle said:I mean I get it that you all think Wa Griz is some mecca of college football, but in reality this year's game broadcast sucked. Was wondering what ESPN broadcast EWU was on this weekend. Looked on the guide and couldn't find it. Even searched EWU and all that came up was re-runs of COPS.Great Day To Be An Eagle said:yeah we'll see. We'll see when your university continues to bleed out. We'll see what happens then.
Good stuff Hav, nice to have facts on your side. It will be interesting to see if Eagle has a comeback of just fades away in embarrassment of being so wrong.havgrizfan said:So many things wrong with Eagle's post, it's staggering. Where do I begin?
Well, as many pointed out, the EWU/Sammy game ONLY happened because neither Montana nor NDSU wanted to play that game on that date. It was mutual, as both had FBS games to contend with. The INferno was NOT ESPN's first choice, that is a FACT.
As far as this year's kickoff was concerned, everything Eagle said is wrong. The crowd was rocking the entire game, and it was one of the loudest games in Wash-Griz history. The game itself was an about as good a college football game as it could have been for that early in the year. It was extremely well played on both sides, and even Klieman said after, that he was just proud to be a part of something so big and so important to the maturation of the FCS as a whole.
And lastly, as far as ESPN ratings go, Montana games now have the top three of the most watched games in FCS history: 1. 2009 vs App. State, 2. 2015 vs NDSU and 3. 2000 chipper vs Georgia Southern.
But, go ahead and keep telling yourself otherwise.
