FCS Kickoff 2016

Wait... do EWU fans think there's going to be a "changing of the guard" too?

They missed the changing of the guard. It was right after Tyrone Holmes blitzed the B gap and made him shit his pants.

I mean I get it that you all think Wa Griz is some mecca of college football, but in reality this year's game broadcast sucked. The smoke was awful, the crowd was pretty much non existent until the end and had Montana not pulled off that victory in dramatic fashion that would have been a dump of a game.

Yeah. You're right. That's why I had 30+ people texting me from Texas throughout the game about how fucking awesome it was, how surprised they were, how great the stadium looked, how loud the crowd was, how good the football was, etc., etc., etc. You know, Texas, where they play big-boy football in 105,000 seat stadiums? Yeah---THOSE guys were impressed. Honestly, we couldn't give two shits whether a fan from Cheney Community College liked it or not.

So yeah, go ahead and keep thinking the FCS world spins around Missoula, but the fact is it doesn't. In this era of big TV markets and an explosion of college football on TV, EWU has been on ESPN and ESPN2 far more than Montana. In fact if you went and looked at the last 6 or 7 years, you could probably find a half or dozen or so times where EWU was on ESPN 2 in a quarterfinal or semifinal game or the national championship game (and the kickoff game on ESPN).

This is pointless to argue. You guys are so god damn delusional when it comes to FCS football. Despite all that EWU has done and how far the program has come you are too block headed to see reality and the changing landscape.
29 of 30 years we have been in the playoffs plus you're once again watching the Griz in the playoffs while you wait for next year....I don't think much has changed.

You may want to take a 2nd look at that stat...and the biggest stat that matters is National Titles, where its 2-1. You would think with all the Griz success that the margin would be a lot bigger...

Really? You sure about that? You wanna go back 6-7 years (YOUR timeframe)? 2008 - quarters, semis, finals. 2009 - quarters, semis, finals. 2011 - semis. 2015 - Kickoff game.

It was around this time last year ESPN announced the UM Vs. NDSU matchup. Any bets on next year's game(s) matchup(s). Rumored to be a double header Big Sky Vs. Missouri Valley day of football.

I am thinking NDSU and EWU reschedule their already in the books meeting a week or two earlier (Not sure Fargo or Red Carpetville are great venues for TV though) .

Bruh, we already had the FCS kickoff game two years ago... You know, before Montana did it. EWU was the first choice of ESPN to start this yearly tradition. So clearly ESPN thought it was just fine for TV.

Get off your high horse.
You guys only got it because the Griz and Bison didn't want to move their game up...so yeah, keep thinking you're all hot shit

and what time is kick off for your... oh wait. you sound like a bobcat with the changing landscape argument. how did that work out for you this year, still butt hurt over getting 57 put on you? its pointless to argue about who's delusional when we are playing Saturday and you are not.

One time man. One time.
How did the previous five years work out for you?
Enjoy this brief honeymoon phase because come next year power will restore itself and the Sky conf will once again be EWUs.

Do you think that the last four years could have had something to do with UM's media smears, player troubles, false accusations, coaching carousel, sanctions (self-imposed), and a noted effort by the president of the U to get the football program out of the spot light?

No - it has to be a coincidence that Cheney Commuter College's little streak started at the same time as all UM's troubles.... Right? It makes perfect sense that the team that won the BSC 16 outta 18 years (12 in a row) just disappeared for no reason other than Cheney CC got gooder. Yep, has to be.

Guess we will see over the next few years, when we get our scholarships back, build our multi-million $ football ops building, and our coaches have a few years to get the guys they want to run their system.

Until then - 57-16.

Trust me ESPN doesn't choose ew non-qualifier university for their high school venue and I have yet to hear anyone outside ew not complain about watching that hideous red carpet. You have been chosen simply because EW has had some damn good teams which you should when you get to recruit from an instate population of 7M. But, you will never ever hear a commentator talk about the great atmosphere etc. For example you wont see a video like the following coming out of ew. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2cmAVadiQ4
Just never going to happen. Bottom line, even when you win, it still sucks to be you. Just kidding that last part was a joke.

If we're on our high horse--you're riding a Shetland pony this year. Enjoy the ride.

Definition of the word:
Fool, idiot, ass, blockhead, dunce, dolt, ignoramus, imbecile, cretin, dullard, simpleton, clod.

Also a term once used in psychology to denote mild intellectual disability.

For some reason, the mods won't let me use the word anymore, but I think we can all agree this applies to you. Next I'll look up the word "envy" for you so that we can see where that applies with you as well.

So many things wrong with Eagle's post, it's staggering. Where do I begin?

Well, as many pointed out, the EWU/Sammy game ONLY happened because neither Montana nor NDSU wanted to play that game on that date. It was mutual, as both had FBS games to contend with. The INferno was NOT ESPN's first choice, that is a FACT.

As far as this year's kickoff was concerned, everything Eagle said is wrong. The crowd was rocking the entire game, and it was one of the loudest games in Wash-Griz history. The game itself was an about as good a college football game as it could have been for that early in the year. It was extremely well played on both sides, and even Klieman said after, that he was just proud to be a part of something so big and so important to the maturation of the FCS as a whole.

And lastly, as far as ESPN ratings go, Montana games now have the top three of the most watched games in FCS history: 1. 2009 vs App. State, 2. 2015 vs NDSU and 3. 2000 chipper vs Georgia Southern.

But, go ahead and keep telling yourself otherwise.

yeah we'll see. We'll see when your university continues to bleed out. We'll see what happens then.
Was wondering what ESPN broadcast EWU was on this weekend. Looked on the guide and couldn't find it. Even searched EWU and all that came up was re-runs of COPS.

Good stuff Hav, nice to have facts on your side. It will be interesting to see if Eagle has a comeback of just fades away in embarrassment of being so wrong.

Hmmm thats weird...I guess you should alert the thousands of people that commented on how badass the game, stadium, crowd, griz on the 50, student section, mountain behind the stadium...and countless other aspect of that game were. Or do you not have social media outlets in Cheney?
