I looked at the total points scored of both teams and total points allowed.
Here is the breakdown:
Total Points Scored:
Illinois State - 489 with an average of 30.6, high of 46 and low of 3.
MSU - 571 with an average of 38.1, high of 66 and a low of 13.
Total Points Allowed:
Illinois State - 402 with an average of 25.1, high of 40 and a low of 2.
MSU - 270 with an average of 18.0, high of 59 and a low of 0.0.
ISU has scored 30 or more points in 10 of their 16 games.
MSU has scored 30 or more points in 11of 15 games.
ISU has given up 20 or more points in 8 of 16 games.
MSU has given up 30 or more points in 2 of 15 games.
I have not yet taken the time to calculate the Total Yards per game, Passing Yards, rushing yards and turnovers.
I have not come to a conclusion on which team I believe will win.
At this point I think the team that wins will need to score at least 28 points.
I would be interested in seeing others predictions.
I am retired so in the next few days I’ll have time to add more statistics of both teams.
