Spanks, the PAC 12 is over. It’s done. They have no TV deal in place after this season and won’t be able to get one big enough to justify MW schools to pay the fine and get out of their contract. PAC 12 is over.
I thought there was a chance to survive the revolt. Did they throw in the towel?

Nope. Two Ivy Plus schools (rumor has it Nothwestern and Rice given their academic issues similar to Stanford and Cal) will abscond their conferences because they suck and turn it into the Six-pack conference initially, then the inflated egos will con six more like-minded cheating academic institutions into joining and call it the 12-pack conference.

They don't have a towel left to throw. UO, UDub, ASU, UA, UU, and Deion took the soap, shampoo, bedding, AND towels with 'em. It's now the PAC 4.And all that money 'invested' in Reser Stadium...and WSU beginning to resemble EWU. All in a week. :o

Put a fork in em'

Oh please! You don’t think NDSU has tried to do that? Where’s their invite? Here’s a clue for you, it doesn’t work like that. If it did, NDSU would be gone by now. There are no spots available in the Mountain West and they are not seeking expansion unless someone leaves, and now with the demise of the PAC 12, there will be no available spots in the Mountain West for the foreseeable future. So go ahead and make a PowerPoint, it’s not gonna do anything for you cause they have no desire to expand! Wake up!

I think you’re the one that should wake up! With Mountain West members likely going to the PAC 12, the Mountain West will be looking for interested schools. You must have gone to MSU or you would understand that.
I’m a proud UM alum having received both my bachelors and masters degrees from UM. How many degrees did you get from UM? My guess is zero. My family has also had season tickets for 16 years, and I’m a QB Club member and I haven’t missed a home game since 2016. I even attended 3 road games last year. I’m as legit as it gets. How dare you accuse me of going to msu!

I will be there for the Griz whether they’re Big Sky, Mountain West, SEC, or even D2. They will always have my support regardless of what level they play at!

We’ll good for you! You just sound like a MSU guy because you immediately go on defense….maybe a bit of a complex. You guessed wrong BA 63. I don’t belong to a club, but my family goes back to 1935 regarding UM.

My dad enrolled at UM in early 1935, after playing
Football at byu in 1934.

I remember you mentioned that. My uncle was there then. I have heard every story about the Phi Delt House and sleeping in Siberia as they called it.

Mike Mansfield was a professor at UM. He and my uncle became lifelong friends and Mike would often take a side trip to Hardin to visit him when in Billings. For some of you football purists, I realize that isn’t football, but nothing is more UM than Mike Mansfield.

Amen!
Newbies take note.

My dad was drinking buddies with Mike, and was a few years older than most students by the time he graduated. When my younger brother was born in Culbertson in the late 50's, Mike, then a US Senator and traveling in eastern MT, stopped at the hospital to see my dad and mom. Spanky, I bet my dad and your uncle knew each other. My dad was in a frat too. I will have to look through some old annuals and figure out which one. One of my dad's best friends was Bill Lazetich of Anaconda. Bill used to take my dad to Anaconda on some holidays, when my dad couldn't get home to northeastern MT.

One more somewhat relevant interview on the future of the MWC and pac.

Relevant and disheartening. Here’s Burman’s take versus Haslam’s take. To be fair Haslam’s was from earlier this spring before a lot of the dominoes fell.

“Burman: Well, Ryan, first off, I’d like to make sure Wyoming people know we are not resting on our laurels and just waiting here hoping that we land in some sort of a revised Mountain Pacific league, whatever you want to call it. We are out in front of it. President (Edward) Seidel has been on the phone with other presidents, he has been on the phone with the commissioner of the Mountain West (Gloria Nevarez). I have been on the phone with multiple ADs and the commissioner many times. And I’m a big fan of Gloria, I think she’s doing a very good job in a tough spot but maybe in an exciting spot.“

”Haslam: Q: What does the athletic department do to best position itself for any future opportunities?

A: You make sure you’ve got great coaches leading your programs and recruiting top-notch student-athletes. You focus on remaining competitive at the level we’re at right now. We’re in a game where we have gigantic scoreboards for a reason. Then, make sure you stay connected to those constituents that support you, whether that be your fan base, students, season ticket holders, campus community, government officials. Those are people who are helping support what you do. Then you got to stay lock step with the institution. What does the institution want to be? Who does the institution want to be affiliated with? We are here to support the overall mission of the University of Montana, so we can’t get distracted and sidetracked from that.”

Bill Lazetich was a great football player as was his brother Milan. Bill’s son Pete Lazetich was also an outstanding player. Bill and his wife, Daisy were members of our church in Billings. Bill Lazetich ranks among the highest as a football player in the history of UM athletics.

Although I don't believe any of the 4 left behind has an affinity nor propensity to salvage the pac, I can see the two Ivy Plus schools trying to swipe the two non-university schools from the MWC, the two Navada Schools and UC Davis in order to somehow make it appear their administration is more than egotistical stuffed shirts riding their inflated sense of self-worth personas...

Very few people choose to associate with those type individuals of their own volition.
