I don't think the bowl games those G5 teams are going to generate a shit ton of money. They're sparsely attended afterthoughts to the 7-8 major bowls out there. Once you get beyond Sugar, Fiesta, Rose, Cotton, Orange and a few others, the rest are just junk.

But they DO make shit tons of money. Not by attendance necessarily, but by advertising and sponsorships. They certainly generate tens of millions more than the fcs playoffs do. And they create economic benefits for their host cities.

Oh, I get that. But for the TEAMS, it's usually a money-loser.

For some. FCS playoffs are certainly money-losers.

The ncaa doesn't publish that information, but in talking with those in the know, supposedly each and every ndsu player received an extra bag of peanuts on their flight home 3 hours after the game. Regal.

There would eight G5 conferences for eight conference champs for new playoffs:

MAC
Sun Belt
MWC
CUSA east - CUSA needs to split
CUSA West
The split off FBS part of the ASUN
The new WAC.
The new Summit.

Don't see the AAC giving up their chance with the Big Boys

Let me help: Montana (which plays in FCS) shouldn’t move up until the G5 (FBS) has a playoff system.

I’m for it. I don’t think some of the top DI FCS should be where they are at. As in most all the other schools in FCS have piss pour attendance and athletic support from there community let alone there student body.
I have questioned many time why UM has created the Champions Center, all the upgrades to WaGriz etc, etc just to compete in the BSC at the FCS level. I have a hard time believing that. UM is a mid major like a sizable handful of current FCS programs.
