Favorite Concussion..

Now lissin, boys; I’ve seen wood and I’ve seen ice.

Crowding the plate too close as a catcher, biggest kid in the first grade at bat, I got caught with a wicked slice by the towering three footer. I came to walking about fifty feet away with a horde of kids yelling and following me. Later, in the most dangerous of all sports, ice skating, where I’ve come closer to death more often than in any other endeavour, I was flying over the ice and stepped square into a tight break in the ice whereupon the cold, unforgiving hand of the ice seized my blade as though in a vice. With my great bulk turning against me as it has several times in life, I did the nastiest twist possible, flew out of my clamp on ice skates and lit square on my noble brow many feet away. Observers just arriving swore later to friends that they had seen a walrus laid out on the ice on Kickin’ Horse Reservoir which you as poetasters know also to be the home of a certain lady of some fame.

Burgers. The best burger in all of the county. My money is on the Mo Club. Those onions smell like orange parallelograms. Delightful.

I don't know if I would say "favorite".....but every time 75 posts on a thread I feel concussed......
"Crushed" is the word.

Pretty sure he got it right. Every person that reads a post of yours says "WTF, how can so many words be so worthless" and then looks like this:

Ah, things are looking up. I was afraid this thread wouldn't descend into another lover's spat between 75 and gbox, but it appears one never need harbor that fear. They will always favor us with their personal obsessions.

not favorite, but most memorable:Scott Waak got hit harder than anyone in Wash-Griz hostory! He never played again

Well, when you notice the two/one that carry these flame wars from thread to thread, you might derive an honest conclusion about what alleged adult males do on sports forums. I could care less what the two/one think. They bring up their obsessions in the oddest threads, invariably derailing threads. You have to wonder what their obsessions are. This thread might answer your question. Someone, demolished on a thread long ago, needed to continue his resulting vendetta. His echo/alter ego responds as though commanded.

Oh man, had a former athlete visiting, we met for lunch today at the Mo Club. He is from central Asia and a Muslim. Big strong, central Asian physique. One of the best I had trained and coached. Shaun was bartending, and I asked that the grill be cleaned of bacon grease. Muslims and bacon. He had no problem doing so, and so my former student got his first Mo Club burger. He ordered a second; best he had ever had. Comment of the day: "you told him I was Muslim, but we are drinking beer." I did not explain the earlier explanation I got, when he would visit and bring a bottle of Jameson, "I think you would call it, maybe, being a 'Jack Muslim.'" Well, today, at the Mo Club, you are going to be a "Jack Muslim."

As I retire, I am going to miss coaching. I am going to miss these kids.

Two come to mind: first was during freshman football when I ( at all of 5'6" and 115 lbs) had to tackle Tom Mahlum (who was already about 6', 190)....that didn't end well. 2nd happened that same year against Kalispell....we were up 38-0 so guys like me got to play but they kept their starters in....I played DE and they ran a sweep around my end. Their TE ( who was also about 185 lbs) came up with both fists under my chinstrap. Knocked me out cold. When I woke up there was a brawl going on and that TE was getting his ass kicked by Tom Oie...good times. Lol
