EWU vs MSU

Thanks poor g.
If you end up 6-5 that will give choate a two year record of 10-12 no playoffs.
Stitt went 13-10 and a playoff victory with 4 top 25 victories.
In the same point in year two choate 6-11, Stitt 13-6 (includes 2 playoff games) Then the meltdown to end season last year.
Neither team is lighting up the Big Sky but I think they are both building something.
Next year both teams should be in the hunt for the BSC title. Although the Griz are not done this year!

Ya, obviously the griz are in a much better position to make something happen this year. I've said all along the griz end up 7-4 so we'll see if I'm right. I have you losing to the Weebs and either NAU or MSU.

MSU has close losses and fans think "we are close and coach is building something". Griz have concrete victories against four very good teams during stitts era and alot of fans want him fired. Had Stitt gone 4-7 first year and 2-4 to start his second he would not get a third! Not saying either fan base is correct in their reactions it just shows a different expectation.
I would say both teams are fairly even with Montana having a slight edge because of an extra year under a new staff.
My questions for cat fans is how much did the victory over the Griz effect the amount of criticism choate was dealt? If he losses at home to Montana will that bring extra pressure into year three? Is any record better than 4-7 mean progress and you all are happy?

There is no doubt that UM fans have higher expectations that MSU fans, or at least more of the UM fans do. Stitt followed a coach who had been 9-5 and 11-3, I believe, been to the playoffs and beat the Cats both years, and had been ranked nos. 12 and 8 in the post-season polls. Choate followed an okay but uninspiring coach who had been 5-6 the prior year, with wins over Fort Lewis and East Tenn. St. Big difference.

agreed PR.
What happened to ASh though? He won three straight BSC titles and had some very good teams, seemed to recruit well and then kind of flatlined. Looked less inspired the last few years.

One more thing PR how do you see both teams in 2-3 years?? I realize there are a ton of variables just curious what you thought of each teams "trajectory"?

bigsky33, what I said last week was that if I’m a cats fan I’d be worried about team morale after losing several games. I’m not saying that’s what’s happening in Greeley right now, because the cats have shot themselves in the foot several times leading to UNC scores. But I firmly believe that MSU is the more talented team, and yet they’re not playing well in many facets of the game.

10-3, not 11-3. Lost to Coastal in the playoffs.

I seem to remember the Griz getting embarrassed down there last season. Playing there sucks!

That a team that was supposed to win lost at Northern Colorado.

Still has nothing to do with this year and MSU's growing list of quality losses...

Griz had morale problems down the stretch last season. Poison in the locker room etc.... MSU looks like they’ll probably pull this one out.
