and using data to justify your conclusion.

So using actual data to justify conclusions is inaccurate, but using biased opinions of a rival's group of trolls to justify the conclusion of "everyone hating the Griz" is accurate.

Gotcha.

It is no more accurate than the posited theory above. It's a theory, not a rule. Here's how your logic works:

Theory: Teams that play the Griz are so overwhelmed and drained after that game that they suck when they play the Cats the next week (Griz Hangover).
Justification 1: NAU stomped the Griz on November 28.
Justification 2: The Cats stomped NAU on October 5.
Conclusion: The Griz hangover is real.

If that's true, then you must ignore all data on matchups for both games, which might tell you that MSU's running game is better suited to beating NAU than the Griz's running game. Here's an actual statistic: UM averaged 2.1 yards/carry against NAU. MSU averaged 5.3.

Here's another statistic: Red zone scoring opportunities. MSU capitalized, going 3/3 for touchdowns where UM went 2-3. That's at least a 6 point swing. I know it was at least a 7 point swing for NAU when Jordy fumbled.

Here's yet another statistic: UM lost TOP to NAU badly. MSU won it barely. The difference? Power running, keeping the clock ticking, and preventing NAU's offense from being on the field by extending drives to the tune of 5.3 yards per carry.

Here's my theory: MSU is better suited with a power run game to beat NAU than UM was. Those stats are as legitimate as the ones you are too lazy to look up, because they show that the Griz actually lost to NAU handily and that MSU actually beat NAU handily, regardless of the pretend "Griz hangover" that may or may not be reducible to hard data. Carry on.

Finally a voice of reason...thank you sir.
Well, of course Punch is going to agree with you. He's a Cat fan too.

No reasoning with these jizz tards. Let them think their shitty football team causes hangovers while they watch the playoffs from the sidelines. .again..

How much are you willing to wager on that ridiculous claim?

Making actual money bets on egriz is silly Az. I tell you what, I will eat as much crow as you want and admit I was an asshole and wrong if you are right. And you?

....would you then be willing to admit that Oct 23rd is not the first time you've logged into e-griz?

Ha! That's awesome.

Amazingly, it was rather quiet regarding the Cant's over the last few weeks. Glad to see we are back on track and many on the board keep rubbing sand in the kitten fans vaginas. SOME of the kitten fans are sensitive right now. For being undefeated in the conference - you would not think much would bother them. Little brother complex is tough to kick apparently. Come on pussies - you are in the drivers seat right now. What are you wasting time on the egriz board for? For the love of God the conference championship, national ranking and home playoff games are yours for the taking. What are you worried about - history?

Amusing how on the week of their biggest game of the year both Cat and Eagle fans are here defending their teams against our predictions.

The Griz Hangover is a myth. Statistically speaking, since 2000, UM's Big Sky Conference opponents have had an overall record of 734-873 for a 45.68% combined winning percentage. Their record after they play the Griz is a combined 49-62 for a winning % of 44.14%.

I will leave it to Oredigger to speak towards standard deviations from the mean and if he would like as he likely has better access to SPSS or some other statistical analysis programs than I do.

Included in the data set are all of the current Big Sky teams as well as Cal-State Northridge for the 2 years they were still in the conference (2000-2001).

Valiant effort sir, however, I'm afraid you're post will fall on deaf ears. These guys got their heads so far up their ass they can't discern logical thinking from lunacy.

It's really high-brow stuff. But the biggest douche? I don't know. We had a lot of EWU fans around lately.

But sCats, scats, cants, boobscats, kittens, kittehs(!), litter box and everything else Griz (see, I spelled it right!) fans come up with is totally cool, right? The irony is overwhelming.

It's all just fun rivalry stuff. You griz fans are my favorite target because you use to be so good and now you aren't, and it is really entertaining to point that out. But I'm just messing with you guys, just as you guys screw with other fans. Beagles, Cants, scats..etc...I have actually never used wajizz stadium but will incorporate it now, thanks for pointing it out! :thumb:

I think those are lame too, and try not to use them. But, Litter Box? I honestly thought that was the nickname of Reno Sales Stadium. Seriously.

I think close game. cats up late, but EWU scores...recovers onside kick...and scores again to pull out the W at home.

JPun, I guess that is possible but I think it was a combination of home field advantage and Griz hangover. The cats have had decades of playing teams the week after the Griz have played them and the benefits are reflected in the cats record.

Also a fallacy. Overall, the Cats, since 2000 have played teams 1 week after the Griz a total of 33 times. Their record in those games is 21-12 for a win % of 63.6%. Their overall record during that same period of time is 97-67 for a win % of 58.4%.

The Griz in that same period of time have played a team 1 week after the Cats a total of 19 times. Their record in those games is 17-2 for a win % of 89.5%. Their overall record during that same period of time is 148-38 for a win% of 79.6%.

Interestingly the Griz are 7-0 vs. NAU the week after the Cats play NAU since 2000. MSU is 7-1 vs. Weber State the week after the Griz play Weber in that same time frame.

I looked at every Big Sky team's schedule since 2000. It was time-consuming building the spreadsheet to keep proper track of it all, but to dispel the "Griz Hangover" effect I think it was worth the time.

If you'd like, I can e-mail the spreadsheet.

Profisme, don't increase your chances at carpal tunnel...many Griz fans can not let go of the "Griz Hangover" notion.

Nice work man, thanks for putting the time in and getting the data to dispel this crock of shit!
