EWU/SHSU game thread

No matter how you slice it Baldwin's decision to score at the end was classless! No reason for it what so ever.

Plus, Keeler is a whiney D-Bag.

Agree. What is your take on Visorgate?
It's kinda whatever. No problem with the call at face value, but if there was an issue it seems like they could have made the correction in the previous three quarters. The timing of the call was a little strange, but I don't know if that had anything to do with Keeler or not.

I agree with that.
Why do you think the EWU coaching staff allowed Shoota to wear a tinted visor when they had clear (pun intended) knowledge of the rule, which has been in place for years? Kinda EWU-ish, no?

EDIT: It would also stand to reason that the intentional cheating wouldn't create much of an advantage at kickoff, but was intended to create an advantage when the Cheney sun got low late in the game. So the timing of the call also makes perfect sense. Your thoughts?

high school/NAIA atmosphere...check
ridiculously annoying swaggering hotshot demeanor...check
...running up the score

way to represent the FCS on a national stage

The FCS needs Montana to return to the top for its survival lol

Nice work PCK! Great post!

I could only watch the game in short spurts...good thing "Ice Station Zebra" was on TCM. btw, the Griz could have done the same thing last year at the end of the game against AppySt, JJ took a knee..just sayin. 8-)

Out of the country. What was the final score??????

EWU: 56
SHSU: 35
Everyone who sat through 4 hours of looking at that field: 0

Nobody will want to play SHSU at the end of the year after that qb gets the scheme down.
Cam Newton Junior?

If anyone had any doubt about what kind of program EWU runs, their last TD should pretty much solidify it. What a bunch of f***[*] punks. I would actually like to see them in the national spotlight more often so more people can learn what many of us already know. You know it's bad when the announcers can't shut up about it.

 Given just how bad the announcers were and how wrong they got most everything they talked about, I wouldn't say this is much of a measure!

Of course you wouldn't.

Come on, where's your sense of humor?

And what reason was there for Keeler to call a timeout with a minute left in the game and down 14 points with the game out of reach? I saw it was tit for tat...or this case, dick-move for dick-move.

Not sure, really. Maybe you should ask Pflugrad. Isn't your program currently under recent NCAA sanctions for cheating?

I went to the game. I was hoping to see other GRIZ fans representing the conference and FCS football. The game was entertaining. By the way, the atmosphere was not as bad as some here are making it sound. Was it to a WAGRIZ level? NO, but EWU has improved their atmosphere a lot compared to even a few years back. Also their fans treated me well, even in my GRIZ gear.

2 college students made the only 2 negative comments I heard there today, and those comments were not bad or threatening. Each gave me the mandatory "GRIZ Suck" comment. I commented back, "I'm here to watch football, not here for trouble." The one guy's girlfriend commented to me, "Thanks for the support. Don't worry about him, he's an idiot who won't be getting any tonight." I could not help but laugh at her comment and watch his expression. He then said " Sorry Man".

As for the game, both teams missed plenty of opportunities. SHSU QB needs a lot of work on accuracy. SHSU should have scored at minimum another 14 to 21 points. They should be a solid team by the time the season ends. EWU also left points on the board, #1 better be finding his hands sometime soon. Vernon Adams threw plenty of good passes. He will be a nightmare to defend again this season. Fortunately, the EWU defense was really bad too. They are over aggressive on misdirect running plays. They have a lot of work to do against the pass too. Looks like a lot of qb's will have field days against them this season. Then again, as the season progresses, I expect them to get better.

Note to GRIZ coaching staff: Please be prepared to play a lot of Nickel and dime coverage against EWU. I'd much rather see them run the ball and eat up some clock than have our LBs trying to cover their 4 and 5 WR sets. Against them, we may need nickel defense be the primary base defense.

Scary thing is, they were off their game today, yet still put up a lot of points and yards. They play very fast. I'm concerned on how we will defend them. I'm also comfortable knowing our offense can move the ball on them.

Thanks EWU fans for not harassing this GRIZ fan too badly. I enjoyed the game.

So we agree, it was a total dick move! Sounds like you are working on Step 1, Honesty. Nice work Ranger!

As I said earler, ewooo is lucky their kicker's right leg is still attached.

Back in the day, a player would have EARNED those 15 yards.

Oh, I forgot to comment. This is college football, not some youth league I have no problem with EWU scoring again. Hell, they were running the ball to run off the clock. Not their fault that SHSU could not stop the run, even when they knew it was coming.

I'm saying it was a dick move with some context attached. Had they not called that timeout, it's doubtful that we continue to run the ball like that.

Bullshit!
Keeler got exactly what he deserved by calling that timeout. The EAGS did not run up the score. They simply played to the end with ALL RUNNING plays, and SHSU simply could not stop it. That's just big-boy football.
