I am sure you have an explanation, then, for Brad Huse at Bozeman, how endless the decline was, how humiliating it was for Huse and the players, year after year, and the ultimate destruction of an AD's career, even when he finally made it right. I'd love to hear it.Sam A. Blitz said:I see comments like this from you, Growler, some others that make the claim that optimistic thinking fans are somehow holding back the program. That is just a crock of $hit. I have never heard or witnessed a scenario where positive thinking fans ever held back a football program. Optimistic outlooks, sugar-coating, whatever you want to call it, does nothing to hurt the program. Period.
There is nothing wrong with optimistic fans. That's part of being a fan. There is nothing in that requiring the fan to be irrational, stupid, or delusional, because that has nothing to do with a rational assessment of the coach. Nothing. "That" fan hurts the program, the players, the program and the University.
There is nothing in being a "real fan" that requires dishonesty. To the contrary, a "real" fan supports the players and their success, not the inadequacy of a lower division coach.
