Tough to be excited. He comes from D2 and hasn't had much success. Idc what anyone says if he was a good hc within 15 years he would of at least been to a NC once... and been consistently in the playoffs. Good coaches know how to win.. especiallt after 15 years. Might as well of hired a high school coach.

He did, with a team of 100% engineering majors. People are greatly diminishing that fact and that hurdle. Fresh blood is a good thing, especially since the program has become stagnant.
So its hard to coach up smart people? That sounds odd.

Actually I think it has more to do with having a smaller pool to recruit athletes from...

This seems like a great hire. I can't wait to see how his offense will run next season. I am very excited, and hopeful about Griz football for the first time in three seasons.

Ask the folks in Wisconsin if it's harming their recruiting and coach retention. How about a talk with Cutliffe at Duke, or Brian Kelly at Notre Dame, Stanford, Rice, Vanderbilt, etc. It definitely eliminates a lot of the elite athletes.

Now make them all engineers with tougher admission standards than Stanford..............

Hey, jcu. UNLV just went you one step better hiring a high school coach to replace Hauck. You'll no doubt look just dandy in a Rebels sweat shirt. :thumb:

Dude you're stupid. Just because I don't like a hire doesn't mean ill stop being a fan or supporting. I just don't see any reason whatsoever as to why this is even close to a good hire? He has an exciting offense? Who gives a shit. Look at NDSU, tell me how exciting their offense is. Its not. But fans still love to watch it. Know why? Because they win..

He has more than exciting offense. He took a joke of a football program, built a system, designed an offense that's been copied at the highest level of college sports, and regularly posted winning seasons. A good accomplishment. What makes it really impressive is that he did this with engineering students at a school where the average ACT score for enrollment is 29. He couldn't probably bring in a lot of the usual types of football players other schools did, and yet he still won a lot of football games.

Now he gets to unleash this system with tremendously better athletes, facilities, and support. Could be quite the ride, I hope it is.

Herr are some of the assistants that Stitt will be bringing with him...

Now that's something to get excited about!

German/Irish/Spanish pretty far from jewish. ;)

You do know that there are German, Irish, and Spanish Jews don't you?
Point one out to me. Lmk when you find one.

You do know the difference between a person's place of birth and their choice of religion don't you? SMH.
Yep. Not many people convert to Judaism though. Usually people are converted to Christianity. But as I said point one out to me.

Folks who comment on the Missoulian site usually aren't very happy with anything. All 6 of them.

I just read this whole thread. My head hurts a little - sort of like hanging around a group of middle-schoolers debating who has the toughest dad.

Welcome aboard, Coach Stitt! This is the start of a new era and I'm stoked with the possibilities. Go GRIZ!!!!!
