Eastern Washington / Montana Predictions

Two top 10 teams, a great fall day in Montana, it is going to be a great college football game!

Eastern may not be Montana's rival, but Montana is definitely Easterns rival. Every year one of the goals is to always beat Montana and EWU will come prepared to play its best football.

The Griz have a program that everyone in the Big Sky wants to have so its always fun when EWU makes the trip to Missoula to compete with the Griz.

As for predictions:

EWU 35
Montana 21

Easterns offense seems to be clicking, running the ball a lot more effectively, and the defense is playing better than everyone gives them credit for, and yes I am a EWU homer.

Looking forward to a great game!

Griz won't have two bad games in a row....Adams with 3 picks. Griz roll 43-22, and it may not even be that close.

Counts finally gets a chance to prove himself and turns into a human wrecking ball. Griz comtrol the clock and this one is not as close as everyone thought it was going to be. Griz 35 - EWU 21

:thumb:  C'mon Counts!!!

The Griz need to study the OSU film to see that you have to CONTAIN the EWU QB. If he gets outside the tackles it buys the receivers more time to shed their coverage and he has the skill to really hurt you. Turn him in to a pocket passer and the Griz's odds of winning improve greatly.

There seems to be a lot of similarity with PSU in this Eagles team. Not saying we score 55 points, but their defenses seem remarkable similar. As an alum of both schools I can't lose this weekend. But I am going with the Griz 42-21.

That has changed a bit!!

Montana 38
Eastern 30

34-24 Griz.

That Montana front 7 will slow the Eagle rushing attack and force Adams into a few poor balls. Griz defense forces 3 TOs for the day.

Johnson's passing game comes back to life a bit as he goes for 350 and 3 TDs. Counts and Canada combine for ~125 yards and a TD.

Let's review the rules for making predictions. You don't get to lay out fifteen different scenarios, and say, "if EWU plays like Alabama, then it will be 89-2" or crap like that. You get one prediction, which needs to incorporate all those possible scenarios. So if you think EWU is gonna play like Alabama, then just say "Griz 89, EWU 2."

happened to us twice last year and once in 2010. why couldn't it happen this year?

It's NOT suprising at all that the Montana offense STRUGGLED against Cal Poly. Cal Poly was predicted to be the best defense by far in the league pre-season (with Montana). They proved that to be true. Their front 7 dominated the line of scrimmage all game (hence UM's paltry 73 yards rushing), they beat the crap out of the UM O-Line. It was ugly. One glaring example was on the 4th and 1 play headed toward the north endzone. Instead of the Griz O-line knocking Cal Poly back off the line to get the first down, Cal Poly destroyed the Griz O-Line backwards and were 4 yard deep in the backfield! That is just flippin HORRIBLE. I could point out the weak link player in the Griz OL, but I will bite my tongue once again.

This game will be largely deteremined by the Griz OL either giving or recieving a beating. Let's pray they are in a giving mood this week.

Griz WIN

Because this Griz team is much more like the 2011 version than the 2010 or 2012 ones. :thumb:
