As always, great insight Brint.

As for EWU...they will be as healthy as they’ve been all year. EB3 was hurt during the JSU game, you could see the effects the next week against Idaho and then he was knocked out for a few series at Sac. He will be back to 100% this week which he really hasn’t been all year.

Easterns three best defensive players haven’t played besides 1-2 games, all 3 should be back this week. Ojoh is arguably the best player in the BSC on D. Losing him at JSU was a big blow. He should be back Saturday.

Eastern still has top 10 talent, but injuries and $hitty play have cost them games they should have won.

Griz look to be a tough team again which is great for the conference. Hope sneeds injury isn’t too bad, would like to see him play this week. Definitely the best game of the year for EWU and us fans...love the rivalry. Best of luck from here on out but Go Eags this week!!
Yeah, this is what scares me. EWU gets all their good guys back, and now we're playing a sudden top-10 talent team. I don't think we'll get as abused up front as we did at Sac, but trying to contain the EWU offense at full strength is gonna be a tall task.

How does anyone here (EWU fans and Montana fans) know that EWU is getting guys back or who those guys are? I haven't seen anything? This week's two-deep hasn't been announced yet.
And even when it is announced, it will likely say Ojoh is good to go, which the last three have, yet he hasn't seen a snap in those games.

Point being. We're all speculating here.

My bigger picture comment, I'm scared as hell for this game. Montana's strengths (WRs) against our weaknesses (secondary) spells big trouble for us.
if we play even close to last week, we both are in for big trouble in the secondary.
my guess is, we learned from our mistakes in that game and should play a much tighter game.

Hopefully the secondary keeps everyone in front of them or at least even with them!

Nice read Frank.

I was at this game and sitting with legendary Griz sprinter Marcus Mial. How's that for a name drop!

Yes I remember Marcus. Perfect name for a runner. I wonder where he is at these days?

Nice read Frank.

I remember standing in the east bleachers at Dornblaser field seeing that play.
Wasn't Dick Zornes the head coach?

Read it in the Billings paper this morning. It made me laugh as it does sort of sum up the EWU / Montana relationship. :ugeek:

Our WRs need to do catch drills all damn week. That was collectively their worst game that I can remember. Soooooooo many drops. Ugh.

Toure and Akem dont usually catch the ball with their hands they catch it against their body which causes them to drop more passes at times.

Zornes “accused a Butte official of purposefully denying his team the win,”...

The referee who made the incomplete call was Butte’s Bobby Rowling. He was part of the local crew of officials selected by Montana...

“I don’t think there was any question he (Poffenroth) was inbounds,” Zornes was quoted as saying in the Missoulian. “The man who was guarding him knew it. The Grizzly coaches knew it. Everyone in the stadium knew it except Bobby Rowling from Butte, Montana.”

Zornes, a former Montana Tech coach, then expressed his anger with his infamous line in an interview outside the locker room.

“Every time I come to Montana, I feel like a prostitute on Saturday night,” Zornes said.

Speaking of Butte and prostitution....

Must win game for EWU, so expect nothing short of desperation. This week tells you everything you need to know the 2019 season.

I was concerned about this game, with Sneed out. Humphrey did great. Still concerned about our pass defense. Perhaps someone can explain why things improved: it seems EWU just quit trying to pass as often, but was that due to a change in our defense, or just a change in their game plan? Either way, second half was much more fun to watch than the first half.
