I honestly don't think attendance would drop after a few .500 seasons, as long as we were competitive and people felt like the program was moving in the right direction. Like a few others who've commented on this, I used to be solidly in the FCS/I-AA camp. Now I think it's a disservice to our players to send them to Greeley or Cheney or Pocatello to play.

We have this:

And that's more similar to these:
Nevada:

Wyoming:

Utah State:

But we play at these:
Northern Colorado:

Southern Utah:

Idaho State:

PRE-FRICKIN-CISELY!

All the nice stadiums, aside from the turf, the rest is for for the fans. I think it's much more of a dis-service to ask our players to compete without a modern, up-to-date, sports medicine training and recovery facility than it is to ask them to play games in Greeley, Colorado or Pocatello. Our training center is beyond bad compared to those in the MWC, and that's all about health and safety! And that isn't going to be part of the Champions Center as far as I know.

Good God man...is there no depths you won't stoop to? Do we have to have ALL the best facilities in ALL the land just to get a recruit to play here?

Nope, I was just offering a different viewpoint. And AZ, once again, you obiously did not read my post, instead you simply just want to argue. NOWHERE did I say the word recruit. I said, it's a dis-service to Grizzly players to subject them to the training and recovery facilities they currently have. Dude, seriously, you can just admit you will want to argue with anything I say. It's OK. I can handle it. It doesn't bother. But GOOD GOD MAN, at least READ my post before you argue with it :thumb:

No need to move up because the lower FBS schools are drifting our way. Once the lower 5 FBS, and the upper 3-4 FCS combine, then we can worry about what conference is best for us. The Big 5 will never come calling so we dont have to worry about that.

The path we are on is righteous dudes. Party on!

You will still need to fund 85 scholarships and add sports to join the g5 no matter what the P5 does. If you can't do that there will be no joining anything FBS. Also I doubt there will be any combination with the FCS and only a few FCS will move up as the money won't support more then 12 team G5 conferences. You need another whole new FBS conference, which is almost impossible to pull off today, or join an existing one and I don't see many openings left

If you're going to split hairs between "players" and "recruits" then me thinks it's YOU that wants to fight.

And actually, I was really kind of joking...just thought it was funny. How many OTHER things are on this mythical list that we have to improve before we're on par with the MWC schools?

I mean, first it was our lack of a study center. That's being built. Then it was our horrid locker and weight rooms. Those are being funded and planned as we speak. So NOW it's the training and recovery center that's holding us back. And when THAT is funded and built it'll be the lack of an indoor training facility....what's after that? I'm sure there's something....there ALWAYS seems to be something...

If Wa-Griz were a true FCS venue it would be encircled by an eight lane track with a field lined for women's field hockey... plus a couple of strategically located Porta-Pottys ala Weber State.

FBS money sure could help pay to improve that training center.

AZ, i Don't make the requirements, BUT, since you asked, 23 more full football scholarships and several new sports

Yes, I was aware of that....was speaking specifically about facilities shortcomings. :thumb:

For someone who claims to be in the investment business, you sure don't seem to understand that if there are $4 million of additional revenues and $5 million of new costs, there isn't going to be extra FBS money to pay for a training center.

No worries! Haven't you heard? We are LOADED with alumni who are more than willing to fund all of these added expense plus the money comes in by the semi-truck load once you move up to the "promise land" that is the FBS. There's a rumor that Palmer trucking already has the contract to haul in the money, but that's just a rumor, so...?

Sad part is if the P5 ever do pull out of the NCAA and go do their own thing then the FCS really drys up as the payday FBS games so many FCS teams count on are toast in all likelihood. Kind of one of those be careful what you wish for things here

For someone who claims to be an attorney, you sure make a lot of shitty arguments. Do they allow you to make up evidence at trial? Oh wait. You never see the inside of a courtroom.
