DixieLand Delight GAMEDAY thread

Pretty wild how the numbers come out.

Brown: 20-30 passing, 241 yards, 3 TD's (2 were rushing), 1 INT, 67% completion, 138.5 rating.

Pretty damn good for a freshman in his first game starting. I'll take it.

There are reasons Humphrey was QB1, even if delusional Griz fans refuse to understand.

This, over and over.

The difference between Humphrey and Brown is one has reached his ceiling and the other is just starting. Humphrey has a better understanding of what kind of pressure the defense is going to bring. That's about it.

This team has a great defense, that doesn’t come along very often and can carry a struggling offense…to a point. Nobody can stop the flood waters forever if they’re hung out for 40 minutes.

Brown will improve, he’s got one under his belt now and will feel more comfortable next time out. That said, the struggles of the running game are concerning and I’m not sure that being way down the RB roster is the entire issue…the O-line is not exactly overwhelming people. That will make things tougher if it continues.

We’re still in this thing, and we have a seasoned coaching staff to make this work. Let’s see how they do.

The running game isn't struggling. It's the best part of our offense. We have a damn good run game and considering the 2 rbs are freshman, is extremely impressive.

It is considering the weight is about 225..... for both.

wait until KB gets a bit more comfortable and starts hitting akem and roberts over the top...It will happen I have no doubt. I heard we had 6 starters on D out.

Not to mention he fumbled three times.

I like that people are super pumped about almost identical qb play.

on egriz, it is blahbby ball. his team won because they had superior strength on the o-line, and on defense. i like the tall qb from dixie, maybe he should transport to missoula through the magical portal?

anyway, regarding dixie state, if they had better lines on offense or even just defense, they would be a good team. they were used to 'playing up', played up, and weren't the soothing balm kem predicted.

They were a bunch of dropped passes/throws that were a bit off.

Otherwise Dixie would have been right in the game and possibly even have gone down to the wire instead of what the final score indicated .

Agree. Coaches see every practice and know who to play. But, does anyone think Griz QB play has been good in a longtime? Every team in the big sky seems to have a good qb every year, amd Griz fans are left scratching heads. Not that UM has had bad QB, but they are all categorized as serviceable or decent. Why is it so difficult for UM to have a qb that controls the game?

A good team for Brown to make his first start against. He has a ways to go, but improved in second half. I wish we still had Cam at QB, but the Griz rolled up close to 500 yards of total offense. The sky is not falling.

Not nearly as much as cam apologists wish it was. Qb play was about the same. We’ll go as far as the d takes us.

I think about 1/2 of Griz Nation should be introduced to Prozac Nation. You guys sure don’t seem to be enjoying the season.

Enjoy the ride.

I want to add this. Other than the q1 clock issue I thought the officials were very good today. God live the people who do this every week that makes it possible for us to see games and they did a great job.

I was frustrated with the Griz performance, but on the positive side, can you imagine how good Harris and Bergen could be once they start to add some weight and muscle? Harris is pretty slim which is not what a running back should be.. Reminds me of Barry Sanders a little bit with his mobility and ability to make quick lateral moves. Bergen is actually playing a new position for him - as a true freshman.

Harris could have a 1000 yd year. Pretty cool.

Is it so hard to just cheer for Griz and whoever is playing QB? Who wishes for the sky to fall? Nobody.
