Lighten up Grizzoola! No question, De Narius is an excellent qb and team leader. Without him, state college is still a good team, but not outstanding. We all know he isn't Irish and it shouldn't be taken that the comments are racist.
How do you know he doesn't have Irish ancestry? Yes, many slaves took the names of their owners. But, many others took their names from great grandpappies who in fact fathered them. Thomas Jefferson comes to mind. Those descendants deserve their rightful heritage. I do not know if this is true of Denarius, but the point is made.
Nobody on here knows that one theme in William Faulkner's novels about the Deep South, where Faulkner grew up, is that many black descendants had a more direct bloodline to their white ancestor than the white descendants, and therefore had a more legal right to a property than the white descendants. Faulkner doesn't belabor this, but it is one of his themes.
"The Irish lad" is not funny. It's not a joke. Just drop it. Lighten up? I'm just telling the truth.
