Defensive Coordinator/ New Coaches

So instead of talking about the awesome coaching hires, we're going to talk about stitt and some poopypoop teams that have nothing to do with the hires. Classic  :thumb:

Yes fellas... This is about New coordinators and new coaches, please get back on subject and take the bickering to where it belongs.

One last post on this, a little example of what people are getting at for 75.

NAU and UND punters finished 1 and 2 in punting and Bolton from MSU was third. Is this because Bolton is not as good of a punter or does the fact that he doesn't get to punt inside for half his games make a difference? This is what people like to call a variable which might mean you can't always take the stats at face value when evaluating. You never want to consider any variables and mock people that do.

And that's the problem with guys like you. You make stuff up to achieve your own "projection." Nobody wants Stitt to fail except maybe the Wombats. But you don't need to lie about it. And you do.
What?? Sorry that really didn't make sense.

I'm just saying there is a lot indicating that Stitt is getting the job done (#1 recruiting class, strong support from other head coaches, big wins in 2015). Anyone overlooking that and trying to find reasons that he will fail is a cat fan.

I say we request a beer summit for Stitt and 75 (after recruiting has slowed down, of course). There appears to have been a misunderstanding or some sort of perceived slight at some point...
I'd throw in $5 to that cause....on the condition that 75 wears pants and we get to observe from a nearby table.

The coaches we have just added are great in my opinion. Will they perform and make our team better? I tend to think they will.

After all the huffing and puffing we are doing as Griz fans lets relax for a moment and realize it wont be until after the 2017 season will we have a good chance to give an honest appraisal of the Griz coaching.

In the meantime I am all for jumping up and down over every aspect I see the coaches do. I will blame them for things going wrong and praise them for the good things I see. After all I am a simple minded Griz fan and I like reading what other fans think.

There it is again, the overt dishonesty. Someone points to your MISrepresentation of his specific record at Mines and you act just like a little kid: 'YOU HATE STITT!"

No, I just don't see the point of lying about things, Seriously, what's the point? That Montana benefits from your fabrications somehow? Rational people can like a coach and still be sober about him. You brought up a series of exaggerations and false statements. The factual record is simply different. It doesn't have anything to do with his recruiting class, his "strong support from other head coaches," or big wins in 2015. It simply means exactly what it said. Your facts and claims were wrong.

What is their to be sober about last season that Stitt didnt do? The only thing I could think of is not advancing further in the playoffs. Or win the BSC.

Travis Niecamp sounds like he has a lot of experience, both at Eastern in The Big Sky, and in Div. 1-A at Louisiana-Monroe, and hopefully Brian Hendricks received a raise--his plate will be full with the entire D Line, but he did an an outstanding job with Zach, Tyrone and Derek as their coach. He has helped us add to an already great history of Griz D-Ends (Biermann, Petek, Busch, Pitcher, etc. If I misspelled anyone's name, you still know what I meant.)

And finally, having Shann return to Missoula after six years away, four of that as an Atlanta Falcon and Tenn. Titan--phenomenal !!! He will bring that Montana work ethic with him plus NFL experience. I am fricking excited that Coach Stitt brought him on board !!! :thumb:

And the team will have that sense of Griz pride, tradition, and history with Andrew, Mike, and Justin now joined by Shann--to me that is an intangible to X's and O's that can only help !!!

Combine that with our recruiting class thus far and I am excited even a little more so than usual for September to arrive !!! I know we haven't won anything yet, but I think we will during the regular season--The Boobcats will probably continue to dominate the preseason Big Sky Championship, but maybe some day we can even contend for that

As for last season, Badlands, I agree--8-5, second round of the playoffs, to me it was a good first year for Coach Stitt. (True, we should have beat Weber and probably Cal-Poly, but it is also true we should have lost to Idaho State.) While it would have been nice to reach the national championship game and win it, with a new coach, offense, and QB, that just isn't realistic in my humble opinion.

To me, Coach Stitt and staff laid the foundation on which we can and will build for the future, and I think--call me a bright-eyed optimist--that will include an NC or two or three before Coach Stitt moves on to The Mountain West or Pac-12.

If that was an NDSU fan, I'd guess donut glaze. But I'm really at a loss here... :?:

There was a spooky ghost with ectoplasm and stuff.

Who you gonna call? UNDSU.

Welcome to the new coaches - terrific to have Shann back coaching and building the culture.

Now all the Griz need is an Offensive Coordinator.

Once again...consistent...but I am pretty sure Ron Richards, Billy Cockhill, and Scott Gragg are available....

He could hire a recent ex-Griz player with little coaching experience that everyone would love.

Oh... I wasn't sure after hearing Stitt cry about all his duties during the final press conference.

I heard him talk about how much more is on his plate, mostly the off the field aspect, than his time at CSM...but to use the term "cry"....guess it depends on how you already view him...and we all know how you do....

One little aspect of being the head coach AND performing as the offensive head coach is this: I would wish Stitt would delegate the OC job to another coach. Many head coaches feel no one is good enough to perform the offensive duties. Some HC's are good at it but it takes away from the other overall duties. I have been told that Stitt does in fact delegate to the other assistnt coaches so that is a very good thing. Taking care of all his duties is more than a full time job!

As I have noted before this Stitt guy is smart a fast thinker and is very driven. Treats his players as players. Does not try to be budy-budy with them. I know first hand one on one he tries hard not to tip his hand. After you visit with him you won't know a great deal more than you did before. I like him and hope he does well for us.
