I like Niekamp's experience and background. And it sounds like Stitt went outside of his own circle to get him. That shows that he isn't completely hell bent on controlling every single thing like so many say he is.

Hidden in Stitt's comments about the new coaching hires in the gogriz.com article posted tonight was a little nugget that may have eluded to what some speculators were...well...speculating about. Particularly, about TG having some of his duties removed later in the season, becoming more of an interpreter than a designer of the defensive schemes. The following may have made me a believer of that sentiment.
Coach Stitt: "[Coach Semore] hasn't been in the business a ton of years, but his knowledge is way beyond his years. He had a huge influence on our defense this past year, especially in the second half of the season."
Whatever the case, I'm excited to see what Semore can do. He looks the part - appearing to still be able to throw some pads on and go at these guys - and got nods from a very intelligent guy like Stitt, calling Semore "one of the best defensive minds" he's ever been around. And it appears he's just a cool dude. That "coolness" goes a long way with millenials respecting him and playing hard for him. I'm excited. He sounds like an all around quality coach....let's hope he can prove me right!

I'm just saying there is a lot indicating that Stitt is getting the job done (#1 recruiting class, strong support from other head coaches, big wins in 2015). Anyone overlooking that and trying to find reasons that he will fail is a cat fan.

It didn't "twist" anything. It looked at the factual record. That's the part you are "twisting." You guys get so married to certain coaches, its embarrassing. The "Mines" record is OK for a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference coach; it was "successful," but not "phenomenal," and there are some embarrassments there. "Phenomenal" is almost beating a John Wooden coached team in basketball. "Phenomenal" is not a 6-9 lifetime record against tiny school in the Nebraska Panhandle. Reality check, boys. Sometimes a little humility not only goes a long way for public relations, it can also admit "not always" and be a little closer to reality. I like what he's putting together for a coaching staff. That doesn't change his record at "Mines."
While I agree there are plenty of examples of embarrassing things on this board, I submit that few if any of them are coming from AK or brewski.

Trying to argue that a 6-9 lifetime record against a school like Chadron State is a "phenomenal" coaching accomplishment isn't just patently ridiculous, it makes anyone that tries to pretend that it is appear simply foolish.EverettGriz said:

Everyone leave 75 alone. He is entitled to his opinion no matter how misguided it is. He likes to crunch and analyze the numbers but he fails to dig further to understand the non-statistical factors behind them.

In other words, Stitt actually has a 15-0 record against his RMAC nemesis. The record keepers at "Mines" didn't understand the "non-statistical factors." And he beat Chadron 55-0, just the scoreboard operators didn't understand "the non-statistical factors."HelenaHandBasket said:

And for your information, CSM has limitations that no other RMAC school has, and whether you want to admit it or not, it does have an impact on performance and results.
