Note that they held ISU to almost its lowest passing numbers in yardage, average per page, and average per completion. Their man coverage is usually good. And the number of picks. As a group, they have good hands. They have made too many mistakes in some prior games.
We haven’t played one team Worth a poop yet and everyone knows it. If we’re comparing our secondary to games against NAU and Idaho State and saying “that’s good” then we’re truly Fd as a program.
ISU is one of the best passing teams in FCS. Why wouldn't we compare pass defense and secondary to one of the top passing teams? ISU came into the Griz game as 3d in nation, and is now 7th. So, the Griz knocked them down. UM held them under their current average passing yards per game, as well as average per pass and average per completion. That's quite good.
ISU is now averaging 316 yards per game, and NAU is second in the conference at 251 yards per game.
Ferris was a very good team. Colter rates them as at least a top 25 FCS team. While ISU isn't a great team, I think they are better than some are giving them credit for.
