DEFENSE - National FCS Stats

Here's another stat: Rob Ash is now 4-0 over RMAC teams, as boastfully announced by the msu homers during the Mesa State msu scrimmage. Woohoo.

When they play someone with any relevance, I might take a look. But seriously?

Are you saying playing an FBS team that went to a bowl five straight seasons has no relevance? We had better stats against them than Texas Tech had the week before. I think there is relevance there. Also, Monmouth would have probably beaten ND.
Are you trying to brag about Monmouth who is a team that doesn't even have a win this year and hasn't had a winning season in 5 years? Hell of a program MSU beat....

Because it's much better than Kramer who lost to Chadron. He also lost to DII's Humboldt, UNC and CWU. MSU was in the RMAC for 40 years.

Not bragging about Monmouth at all. I just think the defense ND played the other night was horrible. Like I said previously, the Griz receivers were so wide open that you couldn't even see a ND defensive back in the picture. Maybe it was just a bad game for them but they will not beat anyone playing like that.

You should have some good scouting film from us exposing UND's weakenesses. It's to be seen whether you can capitalize. Whether UND wins or not, they will play MSU much closer than they did UM. They will not have such a mismatch on line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

Doesn't really matter if they play us closer. I would think they would. They can't get any worse play out of their DBs than they had on Saturday!

GRIZ wide receivers were wide open because they are very talented for one, but also because the o-coordinators came up with a great game plan to exploit ND. Dude, ND lost by 1 touchdown to #6 SDSU last week. They have a plethora of weapons on offense. Give credit where credit is due; The GRIZ are playing lights out!

You have to have a feared running game to create the open passing scenario you keep referring to. Cats do not have the feared running game part and the game in two weeks will be interesting. Understand that you will have no excuses if the cats lose. You have really painted yourself in a corner for this one. I can't wait.

Sure it does idiot. If they play you close enough, they will have a chance to win. I would not want to be in a close game with them in the 4th quarter with the receivers they have.

Yes, you sure did exploit their weakness. The Griz played flawlessly for sure. They took advantage of every opportunity no doubt. ND picked th wrong night to have a let down by their DBs. JJ was right on with his passes.

With out DM I don't see any way the Cats offense will exploit UNDs defense. Your receivers are slow and your O-line isn't going to be running over anyone, not even Mesa Prep School. Please tell me what your going to do against UND BigSky33? Unless your defensive ends have a career day against UND, Im taking the Wioux in that game!!!

I'm thinkin they got beat all around and just lost all hope after JJ starting throwing on them were they were expecting a running game. They came back against SDSU 2 weeks ago. All I know for certain is the Griz really put the boots to them all around except in the TOP. But what does that matter when you're down by 21 points?

One instance where our o-coordinators/JJ took complete advantage of what the ND defense was giving them was our first touchdown of the game. On our first TD ND put the LCB on the slot on the right side of the D. UM saw that, motioned a back to prove it was man, and then threw to a back being covered by an ILB. JJ threw a bomb to TVAN for the TD. That was a thing of beauty to watch. A coordinator with the right checks in place and a QB who can execute them to perfection. That, along with our much improved secondary is the real difference between this year and last year.
