Dear Egriz:

Why dont moderators create a 'time out' thread where it gets moved away from Grizzly football posters viewing for a week, (it can still live and breathe in timeout if it wishes) then if it's worth it's merit bring it back...or bring on an 'ignore thread' button that we can use if we find something too childish, outlandish, or completely un related to Grizzly Athletics...what say you MOD's?

god..but part of us as human beings 'still' wants to look at that nasty car wreck along the highway!!..why is that?

T is right, message boards are for rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists.

If you dont fit into one of those categories then, well your just sad.
Alright, but we don't want the Irish.

I concur as well. I posted a simple request for information about seating at the next game with several replies smart-ass answers that benefit only the respondents.
I come to this site to read the in-depth analysis from knowledgeable fans who have much more insight about the team/game. I do not mind some of the lighthearted joking but some is over the top.
Like bad TV I just turn it off when I don't like it.

Incite - is to start a riot

Insight - knowledge and information about a football team

Just sayin.....................................

I don't really understand what you're asking for. What would get moved into a "time out" forum? How would this be decided? I guess I'm confused.

Also, you do have an "ignore" button.. but just for users. So if you go to your User Control Panel > Friends and Foes tab > Manage Foes you can add people to your personal "block" list.. that way you can add people you don't want to read or see to that list, then their posts won't show up (though, quoted posts from blocked users still will). I don't know if the forum has the ability to ignore threads.. the software may not have that much horsepower.

I have Titleless on ignore on the board and at tailgates..............it works awesomely. Is awesomely even a real word or did I just make it up...???
 Thats Funny AG1!!!

Thanks!

I appreciate all the feedback here and I am taking the feedback to hopefully create a better community in the future.

One way to improve your experience, is to put people you can't stand on your "foe" list. This blocks their content from your viewing. To do so, please read the FAQ at http://www.egriz.com/grizboard/faq.php#f6r0

Keep the feedback coming!

Well I think what irks posters is 'childish posts' like name calling, threatening, calling out, and pure anecdotal fiction. When a post 'rises' to this occasion then I think it should be considered for movement to a time out 'forum' or 'penalty box' if you wish, and let it live there. That way if one wants to continue with the harassed off base commenting then they have to 'go there' knowingly to do so. Much like jail does to those unreformable tyrants among us. And I am quite aware that sensationalism attracts attention to Egriz as much as well formed, thought out comments. So moving those posts and not deleting them I think serves the purpose of keeping the 'Fan' in fanatical. On moving threads, well ... China just built the fastest computer on earth, so me thinks it's just a matter of time, ehem...moores law.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PUTTING "SMACK" ON THE SMACK BOARD MODERATOR... IF A THREAD GETS HIJACKED AND BECOMES A BITCHING, DE-HUMANIZING, PERSONAL TRASHING & ATTACKS, CRUDE/VULGAR LANGUAGE, and such things put it on the "smack board." Seems to me that is where that all belongs anyway... If you want to trash someone or personally attack them, take it to the smack board... easy fix.

Please dont tell me we are right back to where we started?

People can hide behind anything. Doesn't just have to be a message board. I am not sure egriz should be a referrendum on the ethicality of online message boards. While I would like to believe people use their heads before posting stuff, there is little we can do to police irrational and otherwise stupid thoughts. There is no legality to prior restraint, just because they are morons they get the same rights as those who use decorum and post insightful stuff.

Think of egriz as a gigantic forum for sources. Rather than communicating through legitimate means as a paper or other forums of communication, you don't have to out your sources here. So in other words everyone here is "Deepthroat." (Go ahead sickos take that the wrong way...)

Moreover because it is so difficult to prove libel or slander (and it should be that way), message boards allow people to say what the think regardless of accuracy and little chance of being punished.

Egriz is just a microchasm of American life. If we didn't have egriz, we would be just in bars drinking excessively and saying the same dang things. At least this saves us a hangover and the potential of getting our arses kicked.
