Imagine with me you are someone who knows little or nothing about Grizzly Football or Montana in general. Now imagine in your pursuit toward enlightenment you stumble across egriz. I don't know about you, but I know that I would leave with the impression that griz fans and montanans are nothing more than ignorance spewing, hate-filled, inbred backwoods hillbillies. What was intended to be a place for Griz fans to come together to discuss Grizzly football has become nothing more than a public pissing match of stupidity. I am a member of many forums and none of them come close to the idiocracy that is egriz. Theres Egriz and theres GrizNation. The latter is a supportive and respectful fanbase. The former is... well its garbage. I sincerely hope no one uses this forum as a representation of Griz fans, as there appear to be very few around here. Feel free to reply with thought out and "clever" insults, however don't be too satisfied with them as I'll never see them. I'll be elsewhere supporting the Griz.*

I agree with you to a point, however, go to any team's (college or pro) fan boards and you will find the same thing. If recruits and their parents put that much emphasis on fan boards, no kid in the country would committ to any school. Every team has their potpourri of fans....

Perhaps if more posters stepped up and actually talked football, there'd be more football talk. Standing on the sidelines and complaining that there isn't enough talk about football or any quality threads doesn't magically make for more football talk. The board belongs to the posters.. you make of it what you want.. if you want to talk football, start a thread and plenty of people will chime in, and I'm sure quite a few would even talk about football. There's a lot of good opinions to be found around here. This isn't the playground, there's no need to be intimidated by what some idiot on an anonymous message board thinks of you. :twocents:

This is precisely why I don't recommend people to this board anymore unless I know they have a ton of experience with the "interwebs" and other, commonly trolled forum boards.

I've seen more civility on 4chan than this place at times.

I like eGriz in this sense:
First, it is occasionally very informative and I learn some things.

Second, it's occasionally crazy-funny and I know that may offend some...

Third, in spite of the fact that I want to have faith that most people around me are good souls and would look out for their fellow man, a place like this where the a$$holes and narcissistic sociopaths hide behind their screen name, it reminds me to keep my eyes open and watch my back a little in this world. Some people ... well, never mind.... but it is good to see the real underbelly. Luckily I've never sat with any at a game....I've always gotten a kick out of the Griz fans around me...a pretty damn good bunch of people I'd say.

1. You go to a message board like this for the first time when your son or daughter is being recruited; and

2. You are shocked at what your read; and

3. A message board actually influences you or your child's decision....

Then I can only guess that the following apply:

A. You don't have TV.

B. You just got a computer.

C. If you do have a computer or TV, you actually believe that "parental controls" work.

D. Any other schools you are considering aren't "advanced" enough for any of their fans to create a message board.

E. Your son or daughter was home schooled, as you would surely never expose them to the things they see, hear and do every day at high school, and therefore your kids will be one of those that had extremely protective parents who go absolutely ape-shit once they hit the campus (yes, I am talking to you, parent who is saying "my kid would never do that". Yes he or she would. They will as soon as they hit campus. And not just this campus. Any campus, except maybe BYU, because we know they would NEVER do that).

Come on folks. It is a message board. Do some of the comments go overboard? Sure. But there are lots of scary things out there in the world.

YOU have to be smart enough to filter out 99.9% of the stuff on here. If you come on here looking for unending praise of every team, and specifically your son or daughter, it won't happen. There are people on here who are always positive, always negative, know it alls, know nothing, pot stirrers, fans of other team just trying to start sh!t, etc.

Seriously. If you take anything seriously on here, you need to take a step back.

I very rarely frequent this manure pile of a board. I happened by today and was glad to see Remax's scouting report(which I did read). I find it a lot more entertaining to watch Griz games without the half witted comments coming from some posters on this board. The less I know the better. I just like football and am confident the coaches know the schemes to run against a particular opponent and the players will execute that scheme. Does that mean I don't know whats going on? To a degree yes but I like it that way. Let the cards fall where they fall. I work to damn hard all week to worry about what coaches are or aren't doing. If this board offends you don't log on because I guarantee you it isn't going to change.

I have started 3-4 threads to talk football, but they are never very popular, as evidenced by the small number of posts discussing football. Most p;posters either want to try to be a comedian, or just are incapable of discussing the X's and O's of football. Then you have Player Rep feeding his obvious insecurities.

Oddly, every single message board out there like this are exactly the same. They are all filled with the same kinds of people. There's no such thing as a all-the-time-happy message board.. unless you visit AGS. Everyone that says eGriz is the worst.. just go trolling around a few boards.. see if they're any different.. but I can guarantee you'll see they're exactly the same. Message boards aren't for everyone.

IMO all sites aren't shit holes. But even if all other sites are shit holes it doesn't make it that Egriz has to be a shit hole. It just happens that Egriz is a shit hole and reflects poorly on the Flagship. I guess that's ok with some posters.
