Dallas Cook Signs with N. Dakota State....College of Science

Cook is qualified to be a cook.

Nothing more, he might be better at slinging hash than a pigskin anyway. He's not a Griz nor do any of us want him to be......so why is this on a Griz board?

I don't understand why there seems to be so much animosity for this kid. The point is he is just a kid and I wish him the best of luck in his career no matter where he goes to school. If it turns out he plays for the Griz eventually great. If he doesn't, I hope the only games he loses is to us.

I think the animosity comes from the fact that his dad is a complete douche nozzle. I know that's not fair to the kid, but unfortunately it happens.

No animosity from me he is just not a good QB, he is overrated because of his size and nothing more. The fact his dad May or may not be a douchenozzle means nothing to me I don't judge players by their parents.......even the ones that act like asshats.

I agree.

Dallas Cook now plays for a school in ND. This is a Griz board.

Why would anyone want to constantly talk about Dallas Cook or a school in ND?

This is a Griz board.

Maybe because he won a SC and broke a ton of records. We follow those guys until they are off the radar. So at this point I agree- end thread. New thread: WTF MSU offered Dalton Daum and we didn't???? :?:

Daum is definitely on UM's radar and I'm sure an offer will be coming.

Short article about Cook by the Missoulian's AJ Mazzolini:http://missoulapreps.com/signing-days-curious-case-of-qb-dallas-cook/.

“I think this is the best choice for me because I’ll get to play next year,” Cook told a media group as he signed his letter last week at the high school. “This is the quickest way of getting to my goal of playing in the NFL.”

I'm sure lots of NFL QBs have bypassed the well-known universities and have gone the JC route. I can't think of any but they must be out there...

One of the top of my head, Cam Newton. Not the same route as Cook but could still lead to the same destination.

The difference bring Newton was a 5 star recruit with multiple SEC offers who played at Florida until he ran into problems with the law for stealing a laptop. The JC route enabled him to basically circumvent NCAA transfer rules as intra- conference transfers in the SEC are not eligible for institutional aid for 2 years at the next SEC school.

Thats how moss ended up at Marshall after failing two other schools.

The whole thing actually make sense not that it will work. Aside from FCS schools nobody offered him much more than walk on status. Apparently the old man despite all his bluster didn't have enough confidence in the kids future to find a way to pay for his school. Accepting an FCS scholarship limits his ability to transfer in the even he can play at a higher level. One would think they could have found a better JC, but maybe they weren't offering either...........
