As mentioned before, I have tickets in the North endzone upper deck. I have heard from a few people that I should sit somewhere else because the fans in that area might get nasty and it could get ugly. Is it really that bad? I want to enjoy a game with my son. Just don't need him to be in danger. Any thoughts of people that sit in that section.
Fans will be fine, don't worry about it at all. I'm sure someone will have a potty mouth but they won't hang you over the balcony. We had some sit by us in the new addition a few years ago and they were great. Had they talked trash the whole game it may have been a different story, but they came to enjoy a football game and did.
Most in the upper portion are not intense. Maybe first 5 rows of the north but not up there. Most griz fans understand at the end of the day it's football and its a dad and son bonding. I hope you enjoy the game and have a blast

Great. Thanks. Any thoughts on the Pressbox or the Tamarac for eating?

nez is great. not as rowdy as I remember but lots of good griz fans. don't be a d-bag and your chances of dealing with a d-bag are next to nothing.

funny enough, last game in wa-griz the biggest tool that I actually got into it with was a cat fan. :o or at least that's what he called himself. I called him a tool...

Both places have good food but if you have not eaten at Tamarack I would suggest going there. It is really good and they have great beer

May as well do the beer crawl. There are at least 4 breweries and a distillery in town. Bayern is my favorite, but the Larch is ok as well. Good tv space as I recall in the Larch as well. The distillery is ok, but I prefer a good Canadian style whiskey and they didn't have any made up yet last time I was in.

4thecats, I hope your time in Missoula is enjoyable (with a Griz W, of course). Fans shouldn't be too bad... of course there are always a few bad apples. However, I would avoid the student section. Definitely go to Tamarack. Awesome food and beer. Cool spot too. Make sure to fill up a growler to take home with you!

Don't bother with the Press Box before the game. It is PACKED. Unless you don't mind a crowd. I'll repeat, IT WILL BE PACKED. Tamerack is a cool place. If you like beer, no good, check out Draught Works. I like their beer the best and a low key vibe to it. Kettle House can get pretty crowded. I'm guessing Tamerack will be busy before the game too, but they have a ton of seating. Not by the stadium, but I kind of like the food at the Stone of Accord out on Reserve. Easy to get to off I-90 and the food is pretty good too. Good spot to eat after the game and warm up.

There's always Hooters.......especially with a young son. ;) That would be an awesome story for him to tell his mom when you get back..."Mom, guess where we went to eat...."

Tamarack can be very difficult to get a seat in also, I have had to turn back on a regular weekend, but this Saturday it could be very tough....good luck and have a great day !

Good to know. Thanks. I expect to be harassed in good fun. I just hope people are OK with me sitting in the North endzone section. I am walking over the bridge. I have somegriz ffriends that tailgate their. Should be a fun day.

Every where we go to griz football games, including Wash/Griz, there are a few rude fans, except Tennessee, they were the nicest hosts I have encountered in college football! Don't get to bent out of shape if someone heckles you, but if it becomes hostile, tell other Griz fans about it and they will fix it...Almost all Griz fans are fantastic people!

reinell30 will treat you right. :thumb:

Just wait until the griz are down big in the 1st quarter. The griz fans will start leaving and you can fill in with other Cat fans throughout the stadium.

I have never had a problem in WA/griz stadium. I've heard murmors behind me when I stood up to cheer a big play, but no one said anything to me. Last game, the gentleman beside me was a little annoyed he was next to a Cat fan at the start of the game, but by the time he left midway through the 4th, he shook my hand and told me good luck in the playoffs. That said, I have always been in the south endzone, not the north so I have no experience there.

The place you have to watch yourself, in my opinion, is the tailgates close to their M and University Center. I have never made it though there with Bobcat stuff on without having insults thrown my way. Its usually only once or twice and its always younger people. They always wait until you have your back turned, but it does happen. (I'm not trying to start anything, I realize people get heckled at MSU too, just saying those tailgates I always seem to get it. It doesn't bug me, but someone with young son might want to avoid it. Maybe they would refrain from heckling people with a kid.) The best fan experience you could get would be to park on the frontage road, and walk in past the Press Box and the walking bridge. You won't be bothered coming in that way. Everyone is a lot friendlier...and less inebriated. And it is a beautiful walk into the stadium along the river.

The North End Zone is the last place you need to worry about. Best fans there are! And our TG is by the M and UC. Swing on by and we'll give you a beer or 2! Good natured trash talk is encouraged.

Bottom line is if someone looks for trouble they find it..I've had north end zone seats forever and have never had any problems with cat fans. Expect some snide remarks but all in all you should be able to enjoy the game.

Awesome! Thanks for the great response. I hope it is a good game with lots of leg room for me in the 4th quarter ☺. Good luck to you guys.

4thecats - Griz fans won't be your problem. Your problem will be your son who will become a life-long Griz fan after the game because he will have the time of his life. He WILL remember it - and the Griz victory. ;)
