Thought you would view this as "selfishly placing himself about his teammates".

Because he gives it all in the classroom and on the field, and shows up on the front page of the paper for the right reason, you mean?
Yeah. I guess this does perfectly describe the differences between you and me. Thanks for the post.

EverettGriz said:Absolutely I do. When they're selfish and do stupid shit which hurts the program.
Are you suggesting DC is hurting the program?
  :lol:EverettGriz said:No. He has a once in a lifetime opportunity. One which UM coaches can cite for decades in living rooms when talking to parents.
Fuck people!! This is COLLEGE football. DC's primary job isn't to play football. It's to be the best student he can.
Jesus. I can't believe I'm even having this conversation.
EverettGriz said:Sorry AZ. I only reacted the way I did because there are obviously some who openly believe exactly what you posted. Which is beyond sad.

Here's MY point: He's no more intentionally hurting his team than Schmaing, Counts or KVA intentionally hurt the team by their actions Saturday night. Granted, the two events are on opposite ends of the intelligence spectrum, but none are INTENTIONAL in their damage to the team or it's postseason chances.

How about the team's integrity? It's brand value? It's public image? The way kids perceive it? The way donors perceive it?
I'd argue what DC is doing has a certain positive effect on those things. I'd say at best it's still to be determined in the other situation.

No, I think PR was going more for the "key defensive player going to Seattle to selfishly interview for the award rather than playing in the Griz/Scat game" angle....
EverettGriz said:No one is arguing for draw and quarter. I'm recommending 3 games. I understand others may recommend less.
But PR is still suggesting the DC his hurting is team as much as those morons. An argument so ridiculous I cannot believe you and I are discussing it.

Intentional or not, those guys made a conscious decision they had to know was wrong which likely will hurt the program.
Now, back to how effing awesome what it is DC is doing!!!!
