Everyone on this board is a "pedestrian fan". Let's be clear on that. Sure it is fun to debate sports and the state of Grizzly football. That is why this board exists, but nobody on this board is truly qualified to have anything more than an opinion on a player's talent or pro potential... As Havre pointed out, fans (regardless of their understanding of the game) have absolutely no impact. The only fans that may have much of an impact on the success of the program are the major boosters who provide financial support to better it. Bragging about being an objective football fan is like bragging about being an objective food critic when you've never been a professional chef.

If anyone on here tried to argue football directly with ANY coach on staff the way they spew crap on here, they would get embarrassed, plain and simple. That is why those coaches get paid for their football knowledge and the rest of us are posting on a message board under anonymous names. If any of our opinions were worth anything, we wouldn't need to be on egriz posting them.

Crysakes, some of you are so concerned about being "objective", that you feel the need to put a negative spin on something like this. Can't we just be happy that the guy is getting some publicity and attention? It is sad that some of you are more concerned about your own fragile egos that being supportive of a kid who is working his tail off to win games for a program that you say you support...

Maybe you are just bitter and jealous old men that are angry that you never were anything more than a fan and your opinion is about as important as a Yelp review on Applebees... I know some of you desperately want to feel important, but what a sad way of trying to get attention...

mic drop...................

Though slightly funny and directed at a certain poster, the main points of this post are factually incorrect. There are former players and people that played at a higher level than Montana does posting on here. And quite a few coaches post here so there is a discernible line drawn between pedestrian fan and knowledgeable fans.

We could call it the "Semore/Gregorak effect" one guy knows football at a very high level and the other is a frat boy rah rah cheerleader............or so I have read from a post by a "pedestrian fan" :coffee:

Chest bump that guy! :jack:

Lets just hope he is a healthy Brady Gustafson all year....

I stood next to Brady this morning at a youth football camp. He seems to have put on a “little bit” of upper body girth since this time last year. Does have thick legs for a kid that tall and lanky.

In terms of health, his inability to move combined with brutal offensive line play was a bad, bad combination last year. Only one of those could improve this year. He’ll never be mobile. I also hope another year in the offense will allow him to make quicker reads, and not rely on the deep ball with receivers winning one on one matchups.

…and no, he is not this year’s Wentz.

so Cleveland and 1 or 2 other teams desperate for a QB reach for a QB each draft....people are totally blowing it out of proportion.....such a stupid argument for why BG might be drafted......

I know you hate everything griz related but what argument do you have to say he won't if he has a productive year?

Not true.....I don't hate anything Griz related....but it is nice that being impartial is considered hate....and as to why I believe BG will not be drafted.....lack of athleticism would be on the top of the list....dude makes Peyton Manning look like a world class track athlete....

Ainit spelt cappitulised? Sure, it's too much to expect posters on a site indirectly connected to a university to spell or write coherently, but two exceptions stand out with sickening frequency to the lofty mind. Learn these two things if you never do anything else in your entire, wasted lives: DominaNt is the adjective. Dominate is the verb. Learn to conjugate the verb to see in its simpler forms: I see, I saw, I HAVE seen. It is not I seen, unless you want to sound like a brain dead trailer rat from, you know, Alabammy or someplace ... or like about a quarter of those infesting this site. And, how about those Lady Griz announcers constantly referring to them girls? I know Tom went to Western, so that might explain it.

So his lack of athleticism will keep him from getting drafted? When you yourself compared it to Peyton manning, one of the best qbs of all time.......

I don't think you did a good job with your argument there.

Fact is about 15 qbs get drafted every year. Is he a top 15 qb right now? No, but he has the tools and if he has a good year a team will take a shot on him. Guaranteed.

1....the point was if he is less athletic than one of the greatest to play the position...and it is assumed that from a skill perspective he is much less talented....than that does not work in his favor....

2....I based it on what he has done....not what he might do....and to meet your lofty goals....he will have to improve greatly to overcome his lack of athleticism.....

1. Might be a valid point if it were true. But that is exactly what I am talking about. You are so anti anything griz that you think Gus is less athletic than Peyton, who couldn't even leave the pocket.

2. I don't think he is going to have to improve much. Hopefully a full season with another year under his belt with the system. I am quite confident he will get drafted

Guess we will see....and I think it is cute that when anyone doesn't agree with you....they must be a "hater" or "anti" whatever.....

Are you really trying to be a grammar nazi on this board? If you want to go there I will tear apart every single one of your posts.

Badlands just seems to be an extra special kind of stupid, I think he was just making a point of that.

Sweet Dogshit3 and Atlanta in the same convo now...what did I do to bring this hell to my day????

And I guess I'll say it again, like I do every 3 months.....nobody cares about grammar or spelling on an online forum...and if you do I would assume you live a sad sad life.

no no no. I proved why you're a hater. You said so yourself. You said gus makes Peyton manning look atheletic. That is simply not true. It's not even an argument. You hate him so much you overextended the truth to try and prove why your point is valid.

RACIST!!!!

ironic. How is best griz in the nfl doing now? I think Kroy is still unsigned and the bills restructured dan's contract so they can probably cut him this year. So they're both doing great.

I may have overstated about athleticism to make a point...but that hardly means I hate anything Griz or BG....take some Valium and just chill the hell out....maybe Alpha need a samwich....

Btw. There are about 7 or 8 starting qbs about as unatheletic as Gus so. I think he'll be fine
