Congrats to Vernon Adams

Adams is a gifted athelete, but a jerk. It will be interesting to see if Oregon allows him to behave as he did at the community college.

Why do you keep saying that about other schools?

Perhaps because we play in the Big Sky Community College Conference? Just a hunch.

Good question, he claims we play in an inferior conference and we do, but then the arrogance drips all over everything when he acts like we are the cream of the crop in that shitty conference.

We are hardly top 3 in this shit box, and havent been for years.

Not arrogant. Accurate.

Kid..you are arrogant. When you say "community College" What are you referring to? Academics? Fans of UC-Davis and Cal Poly would probably say UM is a "Community College," as far as rankings are concerned. I'll stand by what I say about the state of public universities in America. It doesn't matter whether it's at Montana, CSU, UNC, CU, etc; most of the time it's liberal political bullshit the professors are spewing, and so many of them are just diploma mills. Unless you're attending a small liberal arts school, you're not being taught to think properly!

If you consider "Community College" based on fan base and attendance, congrats. Some areas of the country just don't care that much about college football. I would say 90% of FBS schools would consider Montana a "Community College" if you want to compare attendance.

I would just stay away from thinking you're Notre Dame or USC, kid.

That's the most intelligent thing you've ever posted on this board. Nay, dare I say the ONLY intelligent thing you've ever posted. Yes, that's why we call them community colleges; well, that and the fact that ewoo nearly is.

And thanks for the congratulation wishes. We know they're well-earned, but they're still appreciated.

If true, they would be incorrect. By my count about 38 of 128 FBS teams averaged at or below UM's average attendance last year. That's about 30%. Another 7 or so were about 30k or less, but slightly higher than UM. So, maybe 65% of the FBS might be able to validly consider UM a community college based on attendance.

By contrast, the estimated attendance at the NJCAA Football Championship is around 3000-5000, which is much more in line with the non-Montana BSC teams. :thumb:

Consider this - when UM was playing in the Pacific Coast Conference;
Northern Arizona was known as the Northern Arizona Normal School
Idaho State was known as Idaho Academy, then UI southern branch
Weber State was Weber Academy, then Weber Normal School
Northern Colorado was State Normal School
Eastern Washington was Cheney Academy, then State Normal School
Portland State only existed for a couple years and was the Vanport Extention Center, then Portland State Extension Center
Sac State only existed for a couple years as sac state college in a space shared with the Sac Junior College
UC Davis was the University Farm, then Northern Branch of the College of Agriculture
Cal Poly was. Technical high school, then later a 2 year vocational and technical school.

Hope this conference history helps.

That's good research...I stand corrected. :thumb:

So what this history lesson taught us is that UM declined while all of the other institutions listed progressed. I would have to agree.

I think that's true. I don't think any intelligent Griz fan would argue that the Griz belong in what the PCC has become today. But I also don't think any intelligent fan of any other BSC team would argue that the Griz belong in the BSC. I would say the exact same thing about EWU if they had comparable prolonged success, attendance, program support, revenue, merchandising, etc. You're not a dumb EWU fan; I'm sure you can see the disparity.

Of course, people point to the [very] recent lack of titles to refute this. But Michigan doesn't belong in the MAC, and USC doesn't belong in the Sun Belt.

Article: "Oregon football practice update: Ducks conduct first scrimmage of fall camp"

"According to Oregon’s practice report, Vernon Adams threw touchdowns to junior standout Dwayne Stanford, redshirt freshman Jalen Brown and true freshman Malik Lovette."

"Oregon’s secondary and offensive line are in trouble."

Just like Montana, better fold up the tents.

Several mentions by the media of "acrobatic catches" made by recievers. Must be the FBS term for "jump ball".

"Since that famed 1997 season, Eastern Washington has been the Big Sky’s flagship program outside the state of Montana. Over the last 10 years, it can be argued EWU is the cream of the Big Sky crop, even if Montana and Montana State are included in the conversation. The Eagles have won six Big Sky titles since 2004, including all but the 2011 title this decade. Baldwin is 45-11 against Big Sky competition, including a 34-6 mark over the last five seasons."

With respect to Colter, I would argue that they are the flagship program PERIOD. the state of Montana included.

Cotton Nimitz doesn't get my backing often, but I think you failed at reading here.
