Debated with myself about starting a thread about the other conference tournaments … keeping in mind that winners from the other one-bid leagues are the competition when (if
?) the Griz get the Big Sky auto-bid.
However, a story developed in the Coastal (CAA): Delaware, #12 seed, has just won its 4th game in a row … knocking out the #1 seed. They will play for the CAA tournament championship (and auto-bid) tomorrow. Hell of a run!
With that, five #1 seeds have lost, and only Chattanooga in the SoCon has even an outside shot at an NIT bid. Of course, any #1 seeds from the Power conferences will get NCAA bids anyway.
Those five losses mean that lesser seeds will win those conference tourneys … in the Ohio Valley, #2 SIU Edwardsville won. For me, the interesting matchup will be #5 Navy facing #2 American U. for the Patriot championship.
FWIW: In case you missed it, the kitties pounded ISU 80-60.
