Cole Grossman

Rehab in AZ. Flagstaff would be tolerable, this time of year. Phoenix or Tucson, naw! Years ago, I had an uncle who would take his summer vacation in Montana, just to get the hell out of Yuma. I know of Montana Snowbirds who winter in AZ. Don't know what you'd call those from AZ who summer in Montana.

Phoenix isn't that bad if you're in shape, and I'm pretty sure Cole's in shape. Plus, it's amazing how many people have to go outside to warm up due to the AC being cranked.

He just needs to take a stroll through the ASU campus and find himself the future Mrs. Grossman... 8-) 8-) 8-)

I'd put my money on what you are acclimatized to. I worked in the Phoenix metro area for April, May, and June, about 20 years ago. I spent the winter up north, so heat was a stranger to me. 104F was the norm during my stay, with one day of 115F. Crippling. And, no, I wasn't in the shape of Grossman.
This uncle came to Montana one August when you couldn't get a breeze to save your soul. Him and my dad were in the yard, in the shade of a pine tree, swilling cold beer. Us diehard Montanans were in t-shirts and sweating. My uncle was in a cardigan sweater, buttoned up, arms folded on his chest, presumably for warmth. He said something about how cold it was.
Its what you are used to, I guess.

Would make 100% sense since he’s one of yours. Probably another DUI

How many catches last year?

Because catching the ball is the only important thing that a tight end does? Methinks you do not understand football.

Lived in the Valley of the Sun for 20 years before moving to San Antonio 10 years ago...it absolutely is what you're acclimatized to. Anything below about 110 was perfectly fine...perfect golfing weather...conversely in Texas with all the humidity when it gets to 97 it's hot as FUCK. Can't leave the damned house. The other day it was 102, with a heat index of 124. 124!!!

WTF? I wouldn't be able to handle that. I've become incredibly soft when it comes to weather.

That said, when we went up to Missoula for the opener last September, my group was all scared because it was supposed to hit triple digits. I bought about $50 worth of water in the stadium, and we only drank maybe 1/3 of it. It was actually very pleasant weather because there was a cool breeze. Whenever it gets to 80 here, the wind is actually hot because it's an offshore flow. To your point, the number on the thermometer doesn't always tell the whole story.

I spent four summers in Tempe. Brutal. 117 was the norm. Days when the temp never got below 100. 107 on the way to school at 7 AM was a challenge. Never got used to it; more bothersome each year. No AC in the muscle car. Was young and in good shape.

It's perfect indoors. Until the power goes out. Lol. It's actually not horribly humid here so 104 really only feels like 104. But it's still 104.

If you're ONLY spending summers there, then yes it would be brutal. If you live there year-round, it's not too bad except for a couple days/weeks a year...kind of like getting 40 below in Missoula occasionally. Shit happens, but you deal with it.

Think how hot 104 would be if you guys used metric. It gets to 35 here and I'm thinking it's hot. 104?!?

We started a war so we wouldn't have to use that stupid system. :thumb: :thumb:

Was there year round, but the topic was heat and that's in the summers. Three seasons ideal, the fourth, not so much. 100's May through October. My car was but two years old and I noticed the fabric upholstery was coming off in chunks. Suspected the heat, so I left a thermometer on the seat, windows cracked, 178 F. Had to take care to not burn yourself getting in.

You guys are warriors. Here, anything low 60s, and I need a jacket. Anything over 80, and I'm miserable. If a group of us ever got stranded anywhere hot or cold, I'd be the first to die. With that said, I am driving to Lancaster, CA tomorrow for a state girls softball tournament. Forecasted high for Friday's game is 102. Keep me in your prayers.

My degree from UM was in metric because that's what the field used. Anyway, I remember telling a guy from out of state that the place he was looking for was "about 800 meters and take a right".

He looked at me and said, "boy, who the hell knows what that means?!"
