Coaching Changes

Whenever there is a staff turnover, the AD has to find the money to pay the new coaches while the old staff continues to get paid until June or July as per their contracts. I assume that is an issue here also.

I thought football coach contracts expired on 12/31? I mean, I’ve never been wrong before, but there’s always a first time.

Pretty sure contracts run through the end of the State fiscal year---end of June.

Hauck’s contract expires 1/31/24. It would make sense that asst coaches also expire on Jan 31 as it takes them through any potential postseason play.

I'm sure the Hauck mafia will push hard for him to be signed to another contract before his current one expires. If Haslam signs him to a new contract before the 2023 season is finished, he should be fired too.

My question for Hoops, Kem, and all of the Hauck supporters is this....... if Bobby signs a new contract extension, then proceeds to provide another poor Big Sky finish in 2023, with yet another loss to the Bobcats, will you still be supporting him then?

Are you the capo, or just a lowly grunt? Be nice to Hoops, and he might make you a made man

Me too.

Hauck already has UM back in playoffs and winning playoff games. Two top 8 finishes and this year should be top 10 or so. I would also cut slack for any season where there are a couple losses against top 5 teams on the road when our qb is hurt.

Conference rank is meaningless. Beating cats would be nice but not essential.

5 losses to playoff teams is fine too. UM’s second half schedule was unusually hard.

With a healthy qb, UM would have been a semifinal team this season. Hauck is a terrific coach. The Griz are fortunate to have him.

This is very obvious. Not a stretch in any respect.

A loss to the Bobcats does not define a season. Even if he loses to the Bobcats and we get 10 win seasons and get wins in the playoffs, he needs to stay. Now, if he starts having losing records or doesn't make it to the playoffs for a couple years in a row, then it's time to move on. Yall must of been extremely spoiled children.

Again, I will bet you any amount of money when the final poll comes out Griz aren’t sniffing the top 10. So unless your “or so” stretches to about 16th you’re just blowing smoke.

Yes, I was spoiled by 12 consecutive BSC championships, winningest team of the 90’s, 17 consecutive playoff appearances, 7 NC appearances. Now we’re happy with 6th place, blowout losses to the ‘Scats, celebrating backing into the playoffs, getting a cheap win against a scrub team from the Midwest and then getting blown out again by one of the Dakotas.

Awesome.

My how the tables have turned. It's crazy to think about the role reversal that has taken place. The Cats used to be in the same boat... winning half their league games, hoping to squeak into the playoffs every year, but we all knew there was no real chance we were going to compete the the upper echelon of FCS. Today..... over at MSU the expectation is that we are going to play for a national championship every year. That used to be the griz.

Imagine expecting to do something every time when you’ve only done it once, ever. Wild. I got a hole in one once, so now I expect to get one every round. Bobcat golf.

No one is happy how the season went. No one. We just understand that our down year that included a trip the playoffs and a win against a fcs conf champion, doesn't call for firing of a HC. If we continue to decline next year and the year after, that will be a deciding factor. 1 bad year... cmon. And it wasn't even that bad.

The main thing we need to get this team back on track, are some offensive staffing changes. That will help this team tremendously. It was the downfall of the team. Defense can't be on the field killing themselves every game just for the offense to shit the bed.

Few changes and the team could easily be on track to an NC trip. It just depends if moves are made and if they were good moves. Nothing on this planet is guaranteed, nothing. It's all chance.

Right lmfao. The difference before was the Griz regularly went far in the playoffs. Bobcats whiff success and think they are king shit.

And 2 10 win seasons a 1 8 win season which 1 of the 10 win seasons was 2nd in conf, isn't "getting half the conf wins and squeaking by" rofl.

How many times have the Bobcats even went further than round 1 in the FCS playoffs?

Will it? 3rd, 4th, 6th. How many more “declining” years should a coaching staff get? Remember, this team was picked to WIN the conference.
