Coaching Changes

Weird how we went from not being ranked at all and teams like Northern Colorado were beating us with Stitt and now we have had top 25 ranked teams and have went to the playoffs and got wins 3 years in a row.. we were in the dumpster because of Shitt and now we are crawling up. We just didn't have a good 2nd string qb to help us when our starter went down. Which Johnson was hurt quite a bit. All this years team needed was a quality backup and the record would have been way different.

It’s been 5 f###[#] years. Can we crawl faster?
I guess you keep including the covid year because you need it for your lame argument.

Did every OTHER school not have to go through the COVID year?

Asking for a friend…

We had no help from the BSC schedule with the tough games on the road. It reverses this year with us getting essentially what was the 2022 Bobcat schedule. Not excuses, fact, and reason to believe it was one tough year. No more. Hauck haters love to build one data point into a trend. We're not praising BH, we're defending him from your unjustified attacks.

Oh that’s what it is. We just needed a weak schedule to show all of us Hauck haters how good he can be. I get it now. Boy, you guys are lame! This program will be set back for a good decade. Heck, we are halfway there already. For all you “playoffs are success people”, you can sit down. I gauge on contending for a Natty. FCS is so watered down now that playoffs aren’t all that hard any longer. But I’m also used to winning so there is that.

Imagine where we could have been with a good hire not hell bent on micromanaging and nepotism. Just imagine…… but hey, at least we gots an easy schedule next year. HaHa

I know that I come across as negative, instead of supportive of Grizzly athletics. But there is a reason for that. I remember how full the BB arena was for 20 years. we were always a fun team to watch, with talented players, and always finishing at, or near, the top of the conference. We looked forward to competing in "the Dance" in many years. Fans left every game fulfilled that they watched a great college athletic contest.... whether we won or lost.

It is just not the same any longer. Thus, the dwindling attendance. There is no reason why we can't return to providing that game-time experience of old. But, I don't think this coach, and his style of play, and recruiting prowess for today's high school players, can be the coach to get us there. Perhaps I am wrong, but this is my opinion.

I want a RE-SET in both football, and in basketball. We are trending downward in both sports, and we need a change. Simple as that!

Be careful what you wish for RMG. The entire landscape of college athletics has changed significantly over the past 20/30 years. While I will agree that the product we see on the field and basketball court appear to be less competitive and successful than the teams of the past. 20 years ago if you polled the highest paid public employee in each state it would come up the governor. Today, if you check those same statistics you would find 9 out of 10 states would say it’s the university football coach.
Unfortunately today’s collegiate athletics are dictated by the dollar sign and a fat alumni base that is willing to put up dollars to buy successful programs. The term amateur athletics has become an oxymoron in today’s society. But why should we be surprised, our society as a whole has become one driven by self serving and greed.
Enough pontificating about the ills of our society. Not here to spark political debate.
While I agree in part to RMG’s assertions the truth of the matter is as a small populated state that sits in the lower quadrant of family income does not have the resources to fund even a Mountain West affiliation. The football coaches of both U of M and MSU with incentives can make up to $500k. In contrast the governor of Montana salary is $118,000. And he has no incentives attached. Craig Bohl, coach at Wyoming makes $1,600,000. And don’t forget the assistant coaches.
It use to be, at least in basketball that Montana was a stepping stone to the MWC and even the PAC 10/12/?. Our football coaching tree not so successful. Position coaches at major schools make in the neighborhood of $500k. Why would they take a chance of coming to an out of the mainstream school with the hopes of moving up? And don’t get me wrong as an alumni and home grown product I love my community and state. But with the state of athletics today, pay for play, transfer portal etc. the opportunity to attract up and coming coaches and recruits becomes a crap shoot.
In conclusion I don’t disagree with RMG in theory but “be careful what you wish for”.

Did any Big Sky team play in the covid year? Almost all of your posts are lame now. You should change your name to AZ-Lame or AZ-Troll.

Argument is not nearly as lame as injuries or bad calls..

There is nothing lame about comments on injuries to the starting qb. You too are Soldier-Lame now. You were good with the bad call late against SS. Let's hear you say it. Private-Lame. I was talking you briefly with my Army Ranger son. He said you probably never held a gun. A desk clerk, mechanic, worker-bee kind of "soldier".

Just as there’s nothing lame about legitimate criticism of the coaching staff.

I agree. Emphasize "legitimate". Conference rank when they win playoff games? That's not legitimate. That's dumb beyond believe. Comparing Stitt's last year when he was not even in top 30 to Bobby's playoff wins is not legit either.

AZ-Troll.

Ok, AZ is not a troll. Soldier is not a troll. They may have opinions that I and others don’t (absolutely) have. I appreciate their input, and I consider it, just as I hope they do others’. The trolls are the ones who can find no good, seem to root against the program, and clog the board with the same post over, and over. We know the troll(s). Those guys aren’t it. Two cents.

They have become trolls. Expressing opinions is one thing. Saying the same dumb thing a 100 times is being a troll.

Well you’d be the expert on saying dumb things repeatedly now, wouldn’t you?

Nothing I say is dumb. Most of what you say is. I'm tired of it.

Happy to provide you and your Family things to talk about. Please come fix the furnace in your head where I am living.

Troy Andersen isn't very fast by NFL standards.
Troy Andersen won't get drafted in the second round.
The Griz football player didn't rape her.
JD Quinn was sober when he got pulled over and refused the DUI test.
griz will beat the Cats in Bozeman, probably by a lot.
Weber will beat the Cats, first game was given to them with four safeties.
Cats will have their hands full with William and Mary. (This game could have been 100 to zero, but Vigen has way too much class for that.)

Admit it, you say a lot of dumb shit.

3rd one is ridiculous and completely baseless and uncalled for.
