This is the long and short of it. We can say we don’t care about FBS bowl games. We can say it’s just a popularity contest. We can say it’s better to play playoff games that are only on streaming services. The fact is that FBS is viewed as a higher level of CFB because it simply is. It’s better as a whole. Stating that doesn’t make anyone less of a Griz fan; it just makes him or her correct.

No argument here. FBS is a tier up. Something to ponder though. Would you rather play better teams with less talent and get your rump kicked on a weekly basis at FBS OR play less competitive teams and have a higher win total week in and out at FCS? One has bowl games. One has playoffs where you finally work your way into the cream of the division. I ask because Temple might not even be a top 10 FCS team. Yet, they play with the big boys. I don’t care what anyone says, playing without the opportunity to be in the playoffs and win it all - seems silly. What other sport plays to end the season in some crappy bowl game? There may be other sports, I just don’t know what they are. Golf? Nope. Not even there. Rodeo? Doubt it. I wish college teams would abandon the NCAA and form tiered leagues. Have playoffs based on the tiers and then younger people would be more vested in the sport. The current system is nonsensical.

There is a division above us, and we are below that division, as you mentioned. As for your question, I think at this point I’d rather see what we could do at the next level of CFB. I understand that’s just me, and I respect other peoples’ opinions on the matter.

New Yorkers think they have the best pizza, Bostonians have a funny accent, Atlanta has a terribly busy airport, Miami is humid, and Phoenix is too hot.

I think the fact that he called Bobby to see if he could come back says it all, he already has some regrets. Whether it was a hot headed rash decision when he didn't like is post season eval, or some third parties were playing him that he was destined for big NIL deals at FBS schools I feel bad for him. I sure hope other Griz found this a learning event. Grass isn't always greener and Griz nation is a very special place. Griz Cliff did some great things and I will always appreciate that, Temple Cliff sorry you left, but I really don't care how your season goes. I'm more a guy who is "once a griz always a griz," but if you leave to play elsewhere in college at FCS or FBS by your own choice you forfeit that. Retire from playing, injured and can't play anymore, move down to NAIA or even go to the NFL(f we ever have one leave early) then they will always be Griz in my eyes.

Philadelphia is actually a fun city (City of Brotherly Love) and chock full of history. Numerous urban center sites to see. Trouble is, the urban slums on the perimeter of the core area are pretty grim. Passing by Temple's campus, there are lots of nearby empty and decaying factories and slum houses. And their practice sports field is little more than a dirt field crammed into a not so good neighborhood. But I like Philly. Hope Cliff is successful there.

I have also been told Cliff tried to come back to the team after early portal offers didn't materialize. The comment from an athletic staff member was that once you mention the portal your standing with the team is over. This makes a lot of sense under Hauck's style.

It's a very astute observation that describes the opinions of many. I've lived in a lot of places, and my personal opinion is that there are good places to live in almost every major metro area. If one's perspective is derived from living in a rural town somewhere, like mine was, I can totally understand why he/she would think if you live in Philly, you have to live in all of Philly. The truth is you don't. Hell, even Cleveland has really nice neighborhoods that you wouldn't have to leave 90% of the time. All big cities have bad parts. The bad parts are what sell news stories, so they get the focus.

I agree with Bobby, go test the waters with BOTH feet, you want to leave that bad then GO!
I believe my analogy to parachuting out of a plane is correct. You can't jump back in.
