The ESGGCC chant was fine when it was a random chant started my the student section, sort of how the Montana Grizzlies chant used to be started by the fans and not the cheerleaders. But now that has become a genuine part of the MSU school song, I would be disappointed if I were an alum. If you're over the age of 30, then IMHO, you should believe your school song to be sacred. But now that the fans, and no it's not just the students, it's much of the stadium, do it during the school song, that's something I wouldn't like if I was an alum of MSU, and I was on the field Saturday and I know for a FACT Waded was bothered by it, and she asked multiple people if she thought it was being picked up by Root microphones. Like I said, I've been going to Cat-Griz games for a long ass time in Bobcat Stadium, and none of that has ever bothered me. I've always said that I don't understand the chant during a game against Portland State in September, and I don't understand the people from Great Falls or wherever that burn a Grizzly bear in effigy EVERY game, but for the Cat-Griz game, none of that bothers me, and I've always had nothing but fun in Bozeman, and have never experienced the horrors other Griz fans say. But, I will say, the fact that chant is now an official part of the school song, I think that's concerning, and I know MSU people are concerned about too.
